Tonya Griffith's Animal Rescue, Inc.
We are a no kill rescue group in Tyler, TX, with no staff, and appreciate volunteers helping. Animals stay with us until they are adopted or pass away.
Our purpose is to reduce the needless euthanasia of dogs and cats. We take in abandoned dogs and cats as we have space available, and try to find new homes for them after they are spayed/neutered and vaccinated. We help low income and disabled individuals get their pets spayed/neutered as we have the funds available, to keep their circumstances under control. We also post pictures of the pets available for adoption. We also educate people on their options for finding homes for both pets and strays. Many of the dogs and cats currently in our shelter may never get adopted, and we are committed to providing a safe home for them as long as they live.
Adopting a friend:
Please click on the name of the animal you are interested in to see who you need to contact about that pet. We do courtesy postings for those who need help in the community. The initials of the home are listed before each animal's name, or are listed with the initial A. Any pets at our location have the initials AA or TG.
Come visit us!
We do not advertise our physical address to prevent people from dropping off animals. We prefer people to call first for help. Dropping off or dumping animals can lead to their death.
Would you like to make a donation?
If you would like to make a donation, please click on the Pay Pal link. Any size donation from $5 on up would be greatly appreciated to help with spaying/neutering, medicine, vaccinations and supplies. If you cannot contribute financially, we also collect aluminum cans, tin cans and printer cartridges for recycling to raise money for the animals. Please contact us to pick up any of these items. We are currently in need of donations and volunteers to help us build new dog pens. We have two new cat buildings, one new dog pen and are working on a second new dog pen. We also built an adoption center area for the dogs in 2009.
Do you need help?
Since we do not euthanize animals to make room for more, we are limited on space. If we cannot take in your pet, we suggest that you put an ad in the Thrifty Nickel. You can also post pictures on several different web sites. You can e-mail us and ask for our Pet Options List, which will give you these web sites and other options to consider. You can search for other groups at www.petfinder.com, click on animal shelters, click on animal shelters by distance, put in your zip code, and click search.
