Animal Control serves the residents of Madison by providing care, control, and resolution to situations dealing with domestic animals and wildlife.

City Animal Control Services
We provide the following city services:
•Assisting with lost or found animals
•Educating the public on topics related to animals
•Encouraging responsible pet ownership
•Enforcing the Animal Control Ordinance (Code of Ordinances, Chapter 14)
•Inspecting licensed animal kennels and facilities, exhibitions, and animal drawn vehicles
•Investigating complaints of animal neglect and/or cruelty
•Picking up stray or aggressive animals
•Working with nonprofit animal shelters
