#GivingTuesday is just a week away! We hope you will join Sutterfield Financial Group, Inc. - Bartlesville and our broader community to help support the mission of the Washington County SPCA on November 30th. What is that mission you may ask? It's more than just about the animals! Over the next few days we will be highlighting some of the things the WCSPCA does to serve our community - animals and their humans alike!
For example, did you know that 48% of domestic abuse victims delay leaving an abusive situation because they cannot take their pet with them? The WCSPCA partners with Delaware Tribe Family & Children Services to provide resources to domestic violence victims so that they have a safe place to go WITH their pets.

Did you volunteer this year? The end of the year will be here before we know it. Don't forget to apply for those volunteer grants from your employers! Many nonprofits (including ours) depend on these matching funds to help us meet our missions. Thanks to all our volunteers for all you do for our animals!

Do you know how much love and dedication goes into every pet adoption? If you adopted a pet from us, know that animal caregivers, vet techs, veterinarians, fosters, transport teams, and dedicated volunteers made sure your pet was healthy, safe, and loved.
You can pay it forward to another pet in need right now with a nomination for our organization to win a $2500 grant. It just takes your voice and 60 seconds of your time!
We can save more lives with your voice today! Use it now and text PETS to 80160 for the #EveryPetProject or click here https://us.virbac.com/home/everypetproject.html

Donate to the 2021 Annual Campaign at wcspca.org/donate and your gift will be matched by one of our amazing, generous supporters!
What does your donation to the Washington County SPCA do?
- It provides food, cleaning supplies, caring staff, and a safe place for over 2,500 dogs and cats per year.
- It subsidizes hundreds of spay and neuter surgeries for the animals of low income families and the spay and neuter surgeries of every adopted animal.
- It ensures that every animal in our care receives the vaccines that prevent outbreaks of disease in our community.
- It pays for medical care when animals come to us sick, injured, and neglected.
- It means that the Washington County SPCA can continue to avoid euthanizing animals due to lack of space or resources.

Mama cat's care gives her kittens the best chance for survival. If you find a litter of unweaned kittens follow these steps: 1. Wait and see if mom comes back 2. If she does- horray! Let her care for them until they are 8 weeks old. 3. If she doesn't come back, consider fostering the kittens! Call us and we will walk you through the process. 4. After 8 weeks, get the kittens (and mom!) spayed or neutered and find them homes. We can help with this!

Can't foster kittens but still want to pitch in? Here are our TOP FIVE most needed supplies to care for kittens. We are flying through these items:
1. Kitten Milk Replacement Powder
2. Paper Towels
3. Pate Canned Cat Food
4. Laundry Detergent
5. Blue Dawn Dish Soap
Want to order online? We already have our lists saved on Amazon and Chewy. Find our wish lists at https://www.wcspca.org/wish-list

Kitten season is here. Time for a friendly reminder to not kit-nap the kittens! If you find stray kittens, please leave them be! The mom will be back for them. She is most likely either out looking for food or hiding from you. The kittens best chance of survival is to stay with their mom. Please avoid bringing motherless kittens to the shelter unless you are VERY CERTAIN that they have been abandoned.
