The Nederland Animal Shelter page (409-719-6530) is an extension of the Animal Control service to facilitate return to owner and adoption/rescue.

The Nederland Animal Shelter page is designed to assist in the return to owner and adoption/rescue of animals. In addition, citizens can post request for animal control services. Animal Control can be reached at (409) 719-6530.

The Nederland Animal Control Service was established by the Nederland City Council to enforce the City's Animal Control ordinances (http://library.municode.com/index.aspx?clientId=12828), as well as applicable state laws and regulations. The City employs one Animal Control Officer; the service is under the Public Works Department. The ACO's work hours are 8AM to 4:30PM Monday-Friday. To contact the ACO during working hours, contact 719-6530 or 723-1541; after hours, call 723-1540.
This page is designed as an attempt to facilitate the return to owner and/or adoption/rescue of animals that have been caught or turned over to the ACO. The return and/or adoption/rescue will be completed in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
