A very special adoption announcement to start your week off and to kick off Adopt A Senior Pet Month.....
Grace has finally found a home that accepts her for the amazing and special little dog she is. She will have 3 canine siblings and two very loving parents to dote on her for the rest of her life.
So far she loves her daily walks, meeting neighbors and zoomies with her new siblings, Boomer, Rusty and Miss Peeps. We couldn't have wished for a more perfect home for our Grace.
She is our adoption # 168. Congrats to all!!!
We are so excited to announce our adoption # 167, Sunni.
This sweet girl has hit the jackpot. I can't begin to describe the amount of love in this home. It is unreal and Sunni is so so lucky.
9 siblings that's what she just retired into ❤. And each and every dog was amazing, loving and so gentle with her. It was an amazing thing to witness.
Yesterday brought back so many memories for me....
Years ago in a previous life I was going through a divorce. And I needed 3 jobs to make ends meet. I found a job in the classifieds of an animal care taker for 60-80 greyhounds. This was the beginning of my animal welfare career and the beginning of my love for the breed. Being surrounded by 10 yesterday was bitter sweet and brought back so many memories.
We found exactly what Sunni needs and now I may have to go visit Clakdale more often. Brenda, you in?!
Congrats and thank you to Sunni, Nick, Debbie, Lincoln, Hilda, Ward, Asha, Tippy, Treo, Ivy, Millie, and Rottie.
Did you know that just this year we have already rescued 50 senior dogs in need ranging in age from 10-17 years old?! Did you also know that we have adopted 26 senior dogs into amazing and loving homes?! Lastly, did you know we currently have 22 dogs retired here or in forever foster living their best life?!
It takes A LOT of cleaning supplies, dog food, supplements and pill pockets to ensure our dogs have the best environment to live in whether they are retired here or just here for a few months until their forever family is found.
That's where you, our Amazon Angels come in. And today we need your help!! Our shelves are getting bare on some very important essentials so please click the link below to order right from our wishlist or to get some ideas to pickup at your favorite store. If you order through Amazon, it will be shipped directly to us, but you can also drop off much needed items at our thrift store Rusty's Resale Boutique Wednesday through Saturday from 10a-3p.
We truly appreciate your love and support in helping us provide the best of the best for our senior dogs.

Look at this babe!!! This is Burt ❤🐾
He was found last week in the area of 44th st and McDowell. He is not neutered and probably around 11 years old. The finders posted him on straydar and hung flyers but no owner has been found. We will continue our search.
For now we are welcoming him home to Rusty's Angels as # 302.
Doesn't his face remind you of a chocolate swirl marble cake?! 😋
And this dude is not only adorable he also has a spectacular personality. His little 6# physique is likely to win over all the ladies, without a doubt.
Welcome home Burt welcome home. 🐾❤🐾
Get your tissues....this one is a tearjerker....
Meet Rusty's Angel # 302, Buddy. Buddy's story is so so tragic. But it already has a happy ending. He has no idea the amazing future her has in store for him.
Just this past Friday Buddy's mama passed away from Covid. But the tragedy doesn't end there. A week earlier his other mama got sepsis from a surgery and passed away as well. This amazing and loving couple had Buddy and their two amazing grandkids living with them. They had permanent custody of the children. Sadly there is no other family around so these poor kids are now in foster care until a Grandfather from out of state is granted custody. My heart aches for these kids.
By the grace of God the neighbor on Monday asked about the dog and found out he was alone with no one to care for him and she stepped in to help. The neighbor reached out to MaryAnn who is the one that picked him up and transported him to us today.
I know this story is heartbreaking but here's where it gets really good. Years ago we had an amazing woman named Ila and her partner adopt not one but two dogs from us. Well guess who's daughter is Maryanne's?! Yep Ila!! How cool is that because what this means is Ila is already committed to giving this sweet handsome boy the 2nd home of his dreams. On November 15th or so she will be flying in from Oregon (where she lives) to visit her mom and then she will bring Buddy home. I mean it's the best ending we could have ever asked for. This boy has lost so much but he is going to gain more love than he's ever imagined.
Please help me welcome home Buddy. ❤🐾❤
This handsome devil is Pepper. He is a 12 year old Poodle/Shihtzu mix. His story starts off with a husband and wife who got divorced and lost their home. So Pepper was sent to live with the husband's mother while he figured out his next steps in his own life.
Sadly he found out that his sister's boyfriend, who was also living with the mother and sister, was abusing poor Pepper. The police were called, the man was arrested and Pepper came to live with his Daddy again. This time though there were also cats in the home. Pepper likes to chase cats. Over the last month he had chased off all of the new girlfriends cats. Unfortunately all came back home except for one. We hope now that Pepper is out of the home the last cat will feel safe enough to return.
With all this being said it was a heartbreaking decision for this family to first give Pepper up, then save him from abuse, to then have to surrender him again because of the cats. I keep reassuring them they did what was best for all involved. And now we've got Peppers back 100%.
Once we take care of his medical this sweet, smart and very handsome boy will be looking for a cat free home to spend the rest of his life in.
Until then welcome home Pepper welcome home. You are our Rusty's Angel # 301! He and Manny are already BFF's ❤🐾❤
Today was a big day!!! Why you ask?!?! Because we rescued Rusty's Angel # 300!!!!! And let me tell you he's a cutie patootie!!!
This is 11-13 year old Manny. His story is sad and heartbreaking as his life, until now, was used for greed. He was owned by a breeder in Mesa. A year ago she sold him to a woman who thought she was buying a young poodle. The breeder lied and sold her a senior, debarked, unneutered dog with only 3 teeth.
Sadly with no experience owning dogs and especially no experience owning senior dogs she found herself in over her head. But thankfully she found us.
Manny is amazing and once he is neutered he will be the perfect dog, literally! I mean just look at him!!!!
We are confident we will have no trouble finding his perfect match that will give him the life he should have had all along.
If your interested, get your adoption application in early because we know this handsome boy won't be here long.
Welcome home Manny. This is where you start living your best life.

And one more adoption announcement to end this beautiful weekend. Our one of kind boy Riggs has found his forever. He fell madly in love (and this is no exaggeration) with one of our Animal Caretakers, Beth. He is also pretty smitten with his human sister Tatum and his new canine siblings.
Riggs makes our adoption # 166. Congrats to everyone!!!!
We are so excited to announce our adoption # 165, Mason!!! He went to live with Terri, Dave, Petra aka Aggie, Missy aka Sophia and Isis. I believe this is their 6th adoption from us and we are so thankful for their huge hearts.
Congrats to all!!!
