It’s Giving Tuesday, a day to give back to the causes that matter most to you. We appreciate your generosity and are touched by your kindness, always.
On Saturday we rescued a darling little guy from OC Shelter that we are calling Mickey (formerly Raymond). Poor guy was terrified of all the shelter noises. Rest assured he is now doing very well in a calm foster home! He will benefit from a spa day (that's Tuesday's plan!) and will be neutered next week. Despite coming 'from the streets', Mickey is already proving to be a sweet, trusting and gentle guy who loves cuddling, riding in cars and going for walks.
Please remember little guys like Mickey on Giving Tuesday. Your donations go directly to their care, as all of us at Bichon FurKids are volunteers, 'paid' by the satisfaction we receive helping FurKids.
On behalf of all the pups like Mickey, we thank you!

“Our two BFK pups are now about 13 and 7 years old (+/-? 😊). Corkey was the first. He rescued us in 03/09/2009? Annie's gotcha date was 09/2014. They were best friends and inseparable at first meeting and still are! We are forever grateful to all of the BFK volunteers. Pat and John A”

“Tipper” *Now Willoughby* Update!
Will is doing great. Born blind, he’s adapted unbelievably and bonded with his little brother Bing and his big golden brother Bo.
Will has learned the yard, the house and is as sweet a guy as can be.
You’d never know he’s got a handicap, except of course the occasional walking into something.
Thanks Bichon Furkids for bringing him into our lives.

Meet Higgins!
Fostered in Los Angeles, CA
Hi Everybody!
My name is Happy Higgins and, according to everyone who meets me, I’m a triple A: adorable, affectionate and adoring. I’m a 7 year old bichon whose foster Mom says is a LOVE. I love being cuddled, I LOVE being petted and I’m amazing at getting what I want. For example, if you are sitting somewhere and your hand happens to be “available” I believe (and that’s truly believe) that it’s because you want to pet me! So I rub my head and tap my nose on you so that you will know what to do. (Mom says that shows how smart I am, not to mention determined!)
When I’m excited about something (dinner, treat, playtime, bedtime) I will turn in circles, hop like a bunny, and wag my tail. And if that’s not enough, when you speak to me I listen VERY intently, then wag my tail as fast as it will go and (ready for this part?) then I do a whole-body wiggle!. (Mom’s friends find that beyond adorable!)
I love my bully sticks and stick my bum in the air while hunching down on my front legs to chew. When I’m on a walk (another favorite activity), I keep up a brisk pace and wag my tail the entire time. I don’t waste time sniffing anything, but forge ahead with my head up on high alert.
While I love women and other dogs, I’m pretty afraid of men, especially ones with big or loud voices. I’ve been known to cower, hide, and shake. It will take a gentle and patient man to win me over but Mom thinks that is do-able in time.
Because I have very sensitive shoulders and do NOT like my tail to be touched, I would not be a good fit for young children. Older children who understand that are ok.
(Cont’d—- please see part two!)
