Kanga and Roo are alllllllmost ready to come home with you! π¦ππ¦
These kids pulled up in the back of an Animal Control truck at the Stockton Shelter as we were picking up #SacRDRRed a few weeks back. The shelter is an especially tough place for young puppies with susceptible immune systems, so when one of our fosters offered to take them in to wait out their stray holds in her home, we agreed to help! Unfortunately, nobody stepped forward to claim them, but fortunately for us, that means they officially became SacRDR pups, and we get to match them with safe, forever families. β€οΈ
Kanga is the dark brindle, smaller female cutie of the two, and Roo is the gangly, lighter brown boy with a white marking in the shape of a heart. They're both ridiculously sweet, playful, and have been socialized with cats and dogs of all sizes. At around 5-6 months old, they've been vaccinated, and will be going in for spay/neuter surgeries this coming week. Which means... They'll officially become available for adoption super soon, and we're ready to begin accepting adoption applications for them!
Stay tuned for more from this cute pair, and if you're interested in chatting about whether either might be a fit for your family, visit www.sacrdr.org/adopt.

Zoey would like to announce that she's available for adoption! π£
She's a toy-lover, a real sweetheart, and she's looking to find her forever family (literally, she's packed herself into suitcase and everything π§³π€£).
Zoey initially came to SacRDR as a medical case due to what was suspected to be a torn ligament in her leg. It appears that this may be an old injury, and with medical management and time her limp has all but disappeared most days. She does have a surgery consult coming up later this month to determine whether surgery will be a necessity, but in the meantime she would love to get the ball rolling on finding her forever home.
If you're interested in chatting further about whether Zoey may be the right fit for your life, visit www.sacrdr.org/adopt to complete an Adoption Application - she would love to meet you! π

Weβve been a little absent on here recently, well a lot actually - our apologies. Cute dog photos will be commencing moving forward, we just needed a social media break to catch up on some stuff. Sosa over here is still being cute as freaking ever! He is a whopping 72 pounds, just about a year old, great with humans of all ages and is getting better with doggy friends one day at a time. He is an energetic, playful guy full of personality and is incredibly smart! He has a GREAT foster mom who teaches him all kinds of great tricks. Youβll have to meet him so he can show off for you! Send us a message if youβre interested in Sosa & please tag anyone in the comments who could give this good boy a great home! ππ‘
Sosa is getting a dna test done to show exactly what his breed makeup is! Drop your comments below! Closest guess gets a brand new leash + collar!
Public Service Announcement:
You can work AND keep your dog π
Know what? Dogs sleep 12 to 14 hours a day. Get a camera. Guess what your dog is doing while you're at work? Sleeping! They'll sleep with you at night and while you're at work. So that dog you just "rescued" 6 months ago while you were teleworking and now you want to get rid of because you have to go to work - great news! You don't need to. He'll sleep while you're gone and be ready to play when you get home. But he deserves someone who is home with him? Wait, you mean someone who doesn't work? Guess what? Most people have someone in the household that works! He loves you and he's fine with you earning money to feed him.
Carry on. Go to work. Keep your dog.
Even better - get him a friend and they can nap together.

This cute guy just joined the SacRDR pack - swipe to take a peek at what's probably the most charming winky face ever, and check out his info below! π
"Hello! My name is Sosa - Iβm a big 7 month old puppy. I probably weigh about 55lbs+. I'm told I'm a Staffordshire Terrier/American Bulldog/Boxer mix. I love to go for walks and I love to play! l am great with other animals with slow introductions due to me being so big, young, and playful. I am learning my manners at my foster mom's house. I am potty trained, crate trained, and know some basic commands. I should be with an active family. I love my dog friends once they like me! I will be neutered and UTD on shots before I go to my forever home. I hope to find my forever family soon.
Love, Sosa β€οΈπΆβ€οΈ"

Sweet Zoey is settling in well! She's a big snuggler, and loooves to cuddle up under the covers with her foster humans at night. Zoey has met the resident dogs, and is doing great!
Zoey visited the vet today for an overall health check and to take a look at her limp. She has a small mass on her rear end that was aspirated and inconclusive, so we'll be keeping an eye on that and likely having it removed down the road. So far the vet has prescribed a couple of meds to manage the pain from her cruciate ligament injury and arthritis, and we'll see how she does. Given the nature of her injury and the arthritis development that she already has at a young age, TPLO surgery may be her best bet for longterm health and success, but we'll give medical management a try first and reassess in the coming weeks and months.
Even at the vet's office, Zoey is a happy girl, and she's smart too - she knows how to 'sit' and 'shake' (with a little excited jump, but we're working on that and honestly, she's not the only one around here who gets pumped up over snacks π€£πββοΈ), and she's a super gentle treat taker! Check out the full video for a special guest appearance from the coolest miracle dog around, #SacRDRLily. ππ
