Coming to America on Friday. These 3 precious babies are about 3 months old and weigh about 7 lbs. They have been vetted in Tijuana but we always get them triple checked by @malibuvet and @malibucoastanimal . They will be up for adoption in a couple of weeks. I can’t wait to meet them. Volunteers welcome as they have to live in our luxurious goat shed AKA the palace for two weeks. They are precious. #somedogsgotoheaven #chiquitasfriends
Hi, My name is Sophie and I’m a young mother from Tijuana Mexico. My babies are all adopted so I am ready to go home with you. I am spayed. Have all my shots and I am microchipped. I will definately need some obedience training as the folks here at @chiquitasfriends have too many dogs to take care of with no time for training. I am really really smart and I live for meals and walks. Please ask for me. adopt@chiquitasfriends.org
Diego has left the compound. Not one but two new pappas. Its a very happybittersweet day for me personally as I have fallen for him big time. But now we are bringing Candy and her 4 babies to USA. #somedogsgotoheaven
Paz Paz Paz ! My little girl is sick with EPI! But GOOD NEWS! Today is the first day she has not had diaherria in forever. Thank you Dr Lisa Newell for all your care! Yes we have not won the war yet but with the proper diet and meds we will save this amazing lady. I was watching her waste away in front of my eyes. Waiting on one more blood test result. Please pray for this street dog from Ensenada Mexico. ! Her name means peace. Thinking back to when i savee her I am pretty sure she was suffering from this for a long time. Thinking about all the undiagnosed street dogs who@we love and save. #somedogsgotoheaven
Look at these two cutie pies. Bonita is the little girl and Diego her best friend. Absolutely adorable and the sweetest new additions to the family @chiquitasfriends. They are fixed and vetted and ready for their forever homes. Not a bonded pair, not even brother and sister. Please share. Adopt@chiquitasfriends.org #somedogsgotoheaven
And look at her now !!! Dakota( formerly Sami) is all grown up. She was born June 26, the snallest runt of a litter of 12. Eight babies died but this little girl and her 3 brothers and Mama survived. No words to express my undying gratitude to my adopters who simply do not know what they will be when they grow up. #somedogsgotoheaven
Cabo Critters! I’m staying in one of the wealthiest areas of Los Cabos, but 5 minutes from town is my friend Modesto and Fausto dog rescue. They have 26 dogs in their care and as you can see the dogs sleep on old pallets without dog beds or blankets. They have no electricity, water ( they truck it in) wifi of any kind or bathrooms. Mode has 16 more dogs in her home a bus ride away( she has no car). They are simple wonderful people who only want to help street dogs and they spend whatever little money they have on the dogs. I am going to help them buy the vacant lot next door and build a small house with utilities. With the funds I raised from the last fundraiser, we are going to get it done. They do not have paypal ( yet!!!!) so if anyone wants to help please go to www.chiquitasfriends.org/donate. Lets do this people! A special shout out to @malibuvet @stevienickssfanpage @ltlindathompson @cindylandon1 and @barrykinyon @malibucoastanimal for making this possible.
National Veterinary Technician / Veterinary Assistant / Client Service Representatives Week.
I could not do the work I do without our incredibly skilled, talented, compassionate and dedicated veterinary support staff. A veterinary technician is your pet's general practice nurse, laboratory technician, radiology technician, anesthetist, dental hygienist, physical therapist, laser therapy technician, triage nurse, emergency room nurse, and hospice care nurse. They are the ones triaging your phone calls, providing you with advice, taking your pet's history, administering fluids and treatments, placing intravenous catheters, performing dental cleanings, taking radiographs, monitoring anesthesia, drawing blood, performing laser therapy, and assisting the veterinarians with procedures. They are the ones celebrating with you when you welcome a new puppy into your home and the ones grieving with you when you say goodbye to your family pet after 20 years. Our veterinary assistants work alongside our technicians doing many of the same tasks. Our client service representatives are on the front lines, greeting you when you arrive, answering thousands of phone calls each day, and following up on your texts and emails.
Veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and client service representatives enter into the field of veterinary medicine because they love what they do. They love caring for pets and their people, and they have devoted their lives to doing so. Compared to many human medical fields, veterinary support staff make little compensation. They may be asked to work long hours, hours that may be filled with not only happiness, but also grieving and sadness. It is not an easy job, and yet day after day, they come to work with smiles, positivity, gratitude, and compassion, ready for another day.
The pandemic has continued to create unique challenges for veterinary teams this year.
I would like to shout out a big thank you to all of the veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, and client service representatives at Malibu Coast Animal Hospital! I love you and could not do this without your amazingness every single day!
Happy tears of joy! When I first found Flora in Tijuana she was dying(see first picture) Today after many months of hospitalization, love and veterinary care she has been adopted by a wonderful family in Los Angeles. Thank you to all her angel mothers in Mexico and Cornell. I never ever thought her hair would grown back again but it did. Look at her now! You never know how its going to pan out with these street dogs. I can honestly say im thrilled #somedogsgotoheaven
Ashley, Amy and Daisy were rescued Sunday off the streets of Mexico by my foster Angelica. They are very tiny and Ashley has tested positive for parvo. Please your prayers are needed for these tiny girls, especially the parvo infected baby. She is in the hospital in ICU and I so hope she pulls through. This ia my first experience with Parvo. If anyone would like to help with their vet care, food, boarding, vaccines, please donate at www.chiquitasfriends.org/donate#somedogsgotoheaven
