Roxy (formerly Sage) Shepherd mix ,2-4 yr old, approx 60 lbs-a sweetie pie that was rescued off the streets, this smart pup now knows many commands Roxy is a happy and loving pup with soulful eyes and an adorable bent ear. She will bond quickly with whomever adopts her, as she is super loving. Roxy likes walks and hikes just as much as she does snoozing underneath your desk all day while you work. Doesn’t bark much. Prefers a home with no children or other dogs/cats-I prefer to be the alpha, though I do love meeting other dogs at the park. For a good time, call Much Love!

Freedom walk friday! With her shelter days behind her, MULAN, the Fearless warrior, has settled nicely into her foster home. She will need surgery for her injured hind leg, which is what put her on Orange medical alert @westla_shelter where she has been since June. Our friends took good care of her there, but now it’s time to go. Meet Rocky! A good samaritan found this 6 mos old male wiggle butt abandoned under a car near a fwy onramp. After treating his bruises and malnutrition, he was neutered, microchipped vaccinated and given lots of TLC, he is now ready for Round 2! Very dog (and couch) friendly… from his foster parents: “He is Sweet, loving, playful, smart, kind, survivor, just an awesome dude!” They named him Rocky because he is indeed a fighter and a survivor! #rockybalboa

FOSTER SPOTLIGHT: I am asked frequently, “how do you keep a dog for a while and then give them up? “
My answer is “I know this animal is going to a loving family and there’s another animal sitting terrified in the shelter only wishing they could have a family.” Fostering really feeds my soul knowing that I can help animals that are in a situation that they did not bring on themselves. I am also happy to see the amazing improvement in these dogs…I just adopted out my 15th animal to another loving family and am getting updates on what antics he is up to. I hear the pure joy in their voices and that makes me so happy!
