Thankful for all the foster family's who take in our homeless dogs and help make them whole.
Foster's are the back bone of the rescue. They are the bridge for the dogs on their journey to their forever family's.
K9EI Rescue wouldn't be able to save lives without Kim Anderson, Charley Ricker, and Liza Carrion who throughout 2021 proved themselves invaluable to dogs in need.
In Kindness,
~Cynthia

Update: Mimi/Tink who was returned to rescue due to a disagreement she had with her past owner, quickly found her new family this past weekend.
Tink is leery of men, when confronted she will snap to warn you. Since she is not able to talk to us, we can only imagine the abusive life she lead prior to joining our tribe.
We are happy to report that not only does Tink have a sister Boston canine sibling, but she is head over heels in love with her new Dad.
What is this magic he possesses? Besides really tasty treats, he has patience, gentle voice and allowing her to come to him to engage.
The family is implementing the Two Week Shutdown protocol and being very strict about it to ensure Tink will thrive in the home.
The two week shutdown gives the new dog time to decompress, adjust to their new environment, slowly become friends with the new canines & humans.
If Tink is to be their forever dog, then what's the rush? Baby steps at her pace will enable her to build the relationship she needs to feel safe & comfortable as a part of the family.
We love our adopters when they "get it" and are willing to do the work for the good of the dog.

Update: LeRoy Bear
LeRoy was a hot mess when a good Samaritan brought him into the shelter.
I knew the minute I saw his photo he needed to join our tribe. Under the care of Shorewood Animal Hospital (IL) his skin is healing and his HW treatment has begun.
Dogs with HW don't have a future in rural shelters with no medical budget. They depend on rescues to save their lives.
LeRoy Bear is just barely past 1 year of age, to let him die from a preventable disease is a sin against the universe.
Now he is with his loving parents, wearing all kinds of cool PJ's following his applications of ResQ Organic skin treatment cream. He is eating high quality food and soaking in all the love.
LeRoy Bear's future looks bright and we couldn't do it without your support.
On Giving Tuesday, considering donating to help us save more LeRoy's of the world.

Update: SQUID
Our sickly baby pup is thriving in his foster to adopt home since joining us from the vet hospital in Missouri.
Squid was brought in to be euthanized and we knew that couldn't happen on our watch, so after stabilizing & gaining strength he joined his family here in Illinois.

Older female in heat. She came up to a ladies house and she’s been taking care of her but she just lost her husband and is moving in with her kids.
She’s been good with other dogs and hasn’t had any accidents in the house.
Ms. Molly Brown is upset with us, it's almost Christmas and she still doesn't have her forever family.
Molly is a mere 17 lbs, housetrained, crate trained, loves other dogs and people.

Hope Love's Wish List
Hope Love Medical Update:
Hope underwent mammary gland removal surgery last Monday, on the 1st.
The lab results indicate she has Mammary adenocarcinoma, which is different than the cancerous tumor removed 2 years ago.
Hope has faced many challenges in her life, people have not been kind to her and her body shows the abuse.
I have stood by Hope for the past 6 years and will continue to do so. I will be posting a wish list for her, she loves toys, blankets, will need a winter coat, ect.
Please think positive thoughts that in a year she will still be with us, living her best life.

The unsinkable Molly Brown is starting to take it personal that her sister Raleigh was adopted and she still sits waiting.
She is downright adorable at just 20lbs. She has spunk, sass and an abundance of love to share.
Molly does best with dogs larger than her, DNA takes over and she wants to herd small dogs like sheep.
Our best guess is she has Kelpie in her gene's based on behavior and looks. At 10 months she has gained a few pounds and remained at the same height.
She is a small girl often fooling people into thinking she is a shepherd pup. The GSD's in her foster neighborhood point and snicker at the thought.
Put in an application today to meet this gem of a dog. She is loyal and loving with a huge personality who will keep you laughing at her antics.
