Hi everyone, I’m Ares, a TOTAL sweetheart. My siblings and I were rescued from Home Depot. I’m about 12 weeks old. I’m a sweet and submissive boy. I love playing with my sister Nyx and cuddling. I recently picked up a hobby of playing in my water bowl. I am learning potty training and improving each day! I get along with dogs and cats. Also, if you’re looking for a cuddle buddy i’m your guy! Can’t wait to find my forever home.

This is how Ciel was found wandering the streets. Can you believe that?
Now he sits at a shelter, alone, waiting for when it will finally be his turn.
When dog tested Ciel did good with a male and a female. He was very friendly and in high spirits when he saw his friend choose him to greet.
He is blind in his one injured eye but it does not give him issues. He is very well tempered, giving staff no issues. His past is behind him and he wants to keep it that way. To make it out the shelter he needs a rescue. We want to help him but we need a foster.

Ciel is on medications and has been vetted, his wound is cleaned daily. He needs a foster home to make his recovery and be safe in a rescue. The shelter he’s at is a kill shelter and he doesn’t have much more time.

Beautiful and he knows it, Henry is 8 weeks old, 11.5 pounds. Black Labrador mix and possibly Hound. He is solid striking black. A handsome, and already very stately looking baby boy. Has Labrador type fur.

Henry has an easy going personality. He is eager to learn and make his humans pleased with him. He is so happy running around and playing in the backyard. When he tires he will go inside into his crate on his own. He is virtually perfectly crate trained already. He goes right outside the house door as soon as he is let out of the crate (the crate is right next to the door). Henry is pure love. He gets along perfectly with the old dogs and cats in his foster home.

Puppies are like any baby. They are high maintenance for many months to come. Be certain you are up for the task.

Do you like the aesthetic and look of a Boston terrier but always wanted a bigger dog?
Instead of a 10 pound lap dog, you want a 50+ pound lap dog?
Well, Babygirl is the one for you!

All jokes aside Babygirl is a snuggly, affectionate 60 pound terrier mix ready for her forever home! At 7 years old Babygirl found herself homeless because of her looks. When her owners’ landlord took one glance at her, despite their pet policy, he said she had to go. Not wanting to bring her to the shelter her owner drove over 40 minutes away searching high and low for a place to take her in. We were his last try and we couldn’t turn her away.

Babygirl is house and kennel trained, no seen food issues and fully vetted. She is spayed, up to date and heartworm negative. She loves playing with other dogs and even tolerates puppy energy, helping wear her out and her desire to run!
Babygirl loves to play fetch and relax with s good chew toy. She is amazing in a kennel unless you give her attention, then she talks and whines like a baby! But it’s so cute, we have to admit.
She would do well in a friend in the home who is similar in size and playful/tolerant. She is fine with any age but does enjoy having a playmate, no small dogs.
Babygirl has not been cat tested so we are unsure how she’d do. She loves every person she meets and is good on a leash! She is really a great, easy going girl, looking for her final forever home.

We had a slow day on social media today as our team enjoyed the day with their families, friends, and pup.
We hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday.

This thanksgiving we are thankful for all we have accomplish this year and the team we have to do so. So far we are at over 1,200 lives saved, and counting. We could not do it without you all who help us keep pushing.

Here is to the last coming month of 2021.

Let us tell you a little about Phantom! His name, looks and size are by far not what makes this dog. His name should be something like Danny, Because he's like that big brother Danny that has all the best skills, makes you feel safe, and cared for. And takes you on the best adventures together. He knows sit, stay, shake, down, and no. He kennels on command and is housetrained. How's that for big brother knowledge? But that's not all. His morning routine consists of helping feed all the cats and kittens, and getting the kids up and out of bed for the day. Gently I might add. He likes to climb in their beds and nudge their little faces out of the blankets and get a good wiff of kiddie morning breath. Then plop next to them and wait for their sleepy little pet pets. Who would have thought 76 lbs of dog could be so gentle? His best friends are a rude little boy terrier and a big girl lab. He goes and finds all the sticks for them to play tug of war with and chew to a million bits together.

Apparently the biggest bowl is the best but in big brother fashion he sits by while they try to claim all his food. Giving a protest bark every now and again but ultimately letting them take what they want. At about 3-4 years old his manners and skills are surely mastered but not so old that playtime is still a great time to be had. He's an easy leash walker and expert car rider that's ready for any adventure you want to do especially people things, like festivals and fairs and markets where he'll get all the attention. His lab nose might spark some interest so a fenced yard is a must. Does your family need a big brother? If so, adopt Phantom and enjoy the holidays with him because you would have most certainly won the lottery with him.

How Thanksgiving started for this little kitten and us, versus how it’s going…

This morning at the @straycafe_takepawsrescue didn’t start off any duller with the holiday. When one of our employees was taking out trash he heard meowing and low and behold, a drop off on our porch!
He is LOVING the donated @smartpetlove heartbeat kitten pillow!
Shivering and terrified this little kitten has warmed up inside the cafe but is adjusting to all the ruckus of the dogs. He/she is eating well but having bad stool and will be hopefully moved soon.

Please do not leave animals on our porch/property after hours. We cannot always make room, nor is it the safest route for an animal we don’t know anything about. We are always open to trying our best to help, but in turn need you to also help us!

We really need to get a camera for our porch other than our doorbell camera. If anyone can help with a little cat/kitten food or a supply we really need for the cafe PLEASE check out the wishlist (Stray Cafe on Amazon).

I’m Meme and I am the cutest, most lovable puppy in the world! I am a 3 to 4-month-old black terrier mix. I am only about 8-9 pounds. I have cute white socks on my giant feet—I have some growing still to do! I am up to date on my shots and will be ready to get spayed in January. I came to rescue from a kill shelter in rural, LA, after I was found a stray and no one came looking for me. I love every person I meet and want to jump in their arms and kiss them and love on them! I am teething right now and need chew toys all over the house. But as long as I have toys, I don’t chew the house. I am working on not chewing on my foster family’s hands and am much better than when I first arrived. I am high energy and need walks and play time every day. I do well in my kennel when you have to leave. I am progressing well with house training and walking on a leash. I get along really well with the dogs and kids in my foster house. I would love to have a doggie playmate, but the kids in my foster house are great playmates too since my foster dog sisters are too old to play with me. I have met the neighbor’s cat and we get along too! I have the cutest crooked ears and I know you will fall in love with me when you meet me. Will you give me a forever home to grow up in and be your loyal, bestest friend??

Goliath may be described as a scary giant in the stories, but in this case, Goliath is just a sweet Doberman looking for his forever home!

Goliath is a 2 year old purebred Doberman pincher. He’s got the docked tail, but still has his endearing perked, floppy ears! Goliath the sweet boy is great with kids and other dogs, always ready to play. He’d probably do best in a home with no cats though; those hissing fluff balls are too much fun to chase.

He has spent his life so far living only outside, so he’s still getting the hang of living inside, though we imagine he’s liking soft dog beds and sofas over the ground outside. Due to his living outside, he is working on crate and house training. He does have a light case of heartworm and is currently on proheart. He is scheduled to be neutered soon and will be ready for his forever home!
