The mission of the Brown County Animal Shelter is to encourage and assist in the enforcement of all laws and ordinances for the protection of the community and for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

We will strive to be professional at all times in our response and dealings with the public and be respectful of their rights and concerns;

We will be dedicated to establishing and maintaining an animal shelter and associated procedures which promote the health safety, care, handling and humane treatment for homeless pets in our community;

We will help facilitate the placement of stray and unwanted pets into desirable homes or rescues through adoptions, fostering and community events;

We will attempt to return all loose roaming dogs to responsible owners and educate them in their responsibilities and methods of compliance including registration and licensing to ensure the pet's safety and prevent future problems.
