Meet Keegan! This small, sweet red pittie came to us all the way from Alabama and is ready to find his furever home here in WNY!
A little bit about me – I am around 40lbs of energy, love and kisses. I am still a puppy (approx 6-7mo) so please be prepared, I will pick up and try to eat things that I shouldn’t, it’s just what puppies do! I am crate trained when my people leave the house or go to bed and if I do get upset, I can be easily distracted with a Kong toy filled with peanut butter! Being a puppy, I still need to be watched closely and be let out to go potty every hour or so. I am a pretty strong boy and sometimes I can get a little excited on leash, but for the most part I just want to sniff everything and explore!
Here’s the best part! I LOVE being a little brother!!! I currently live with 2 other dogs and I LOVE to play with them! Because I have so much energy, if there is an older dog in the house it might not be a love match, but I have only tried to love, love, love my furry siblings since meeting them. I also have 3 small humans aged 7, 5 and 3 that I love to smother with kisses and cuddles! Being a very energetic guy, sometimes I forget and jump on them, but only to play with them, never to hurt them. I haven’t been introduced to kitties yet, so I don’t know if I will like them or not. There are some feathered friends outside of our fence that I am very interested in, but when mom calls me back, I listen, so I would need to be watched carefully around them!
If your family is looking for a compact little guy who wants nothing more than to follow you around, smother you in kisses and cuddle you on the couch, please consider Keegan! He is up to date on all his vaccinations, neutered, micro-chipped and ready to love you forever!https://queencitypitties.com/adoption-application/
Sadie would like to thank everyone who came out last night to our beer blast! Because of YOU we raised $4,697 (ticket sales, Donations, basket raffle, merchandise and 50/50 - which was donated back to the rescue) Sadie’s MRI is scheduled for 12/8 in Ithaca with Dr. Dewey at Elemental Veterinary Hospital.
Thank you all so much for your continued support!! #sadiestrong
SOS: This fry needs HELP with his small fry. ‼️
After a consultation with a specialist, it’s been determined that Tater desperately needs surgery for his prolapsed urethra.
This will cost between $2,700-$3,700.
This is a heavy lift for the rescue right now as they’ve got several medical cases and fundraising has been challenging due to the pandemic.
So we’re asking you for help! If 200 people donate just $20, we’d hit our goal!
Please consider making a donation here: paypal.me/queencitypitties. Be sure to share your address and include a note for Tater. We will do our best to thank everyone!
ICYMI: Tater’s owner passed away and the remaining family wanted to euthanize him. The shelter reached out to their rescue partners, and I just couldn’t say no to a literal potato.
When we got him about 10 weeks ago, he was recovering from a terrible flea infestation. He was covered in hives, and his ears were yeasty AF. His nails were overgrown and his paw pads pee stained. He wouldn’t step on the grass and going potty outside was a major hurdle.
We quickly learned he suffers from confinement anxiety — likely a result of being crated more often than not. On top of being extremely stressed out, he would go to the bathroom in his area and just sit or lay in it. This is likely all he knew and felt normal to him.
We scheduled a vet appointment and implemented some fear-free tactics to help him adjust. We now baby gate a part of the house when we leave, and he is able to comfortably relax on the couch.
During this appointment, we also learned Tater had a penis infection. We treated it and it improved, however, a prolapsed urethra remained. It was recommended we consult a specialist who is able to do this delicate surgery. That happened yesterday.
This little chicken nuggie boi has so much love to give and will make someone so happy. Please help us get him healthy so we can find his perfect forever family!
Happy Rosie girl!!! 🌹🥰 Check out these beautiful shots by @rocpetportraits! Swipe for underbite 🐶😜
Rosie will be up for adoption soon! Fill out an app on our website to get ahead of the game!! #linkinbio
Morning all!! Just a little warning regarding the Xmas treat many stores are now starting to stock for dogs at xmas.
Many of these so called treats end up with the dog "enjoying" some time in a veterinary surgery over Christmas.
The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China.
The chews are made from cattle or horse hides and their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic sodium sulphide to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell.
Now comes the pretty festive colours and the glue to form cute shapes.
On testing, these chews have shown traces of arsenic, mercury, chromium and formaldehyde.
If that wasn't bad enough, they regularly cause intestinal blockages, poisoning from chemical residue and choking.
The chews go slippery when wet and are near impossible to get hold of to save a choking dog.
Leave them in the shop where they belong or if some well meaning person buys them for your dog put them safely away for later, then dispatch in the bin!
Please be safe with your dogs!
If Beer Blasts, Football Squares or Raffles aren't your thing, but you'd still like to donate, we have something else you might be interested in!!
One of our awesome supporters is having a Skin Care Fundraiser for us!!
Give the gift of luxury Skin, Spa, Bath & Body products this Holiday Season!! 50% of your purchase is donated back to QCP!! There is literally something for everyone!

Tater Update 🥔🥔🥔
It’s been a while, friends. If you don’t closely follow Carlo with the Fat Head, I’m offended, but here’s what’s been going on with the Earl of Frites. 🍟
Tater has a consultation on Nov. 11 with a specialist to determine if his urethral prolapse requires surgery. Fingers crossed it does not because it sounds horrible. 🤢
Tater has SEVERE confinement anxiety. Don’t make me prove it. Just take my word for it. He has been my most challenging foster. We tried for weeks to help him adjust to spending time in a crate and then a pen. We experienced some mild success but that was overshadowed by intense panic attacks that were upsetting to witness. 🥺
This is NOT the same as separation anxiety. ‼️
Tater will definitely need a home that does not need to crate him or even keep him in a separate room. He likes to be where the action is… even if there is currently no action. He loves the couch and is happy to snuggle on it whether you’re home or not.
Tater is not NOT 100% potty trained but he’s about 90% of the way there and doing better every day. He goes pretty quickly when we go outside (and yes, you do need to go with him rain, shine, or snow) and grass is no big deal now! I’m hoping that by creating a more calm environment for him in the house, we will close that 10% gap. (Most of the time the accidents were in his crate/pen/room and correlated with his stress levels.)
Tater is pretty neutral with other dogs and humans. He loves everyone but he can get a little too excited and hump. (He’s an equal opportunity humper.) He doesn’t seem to understand how to play with other dogs but enjoys performing dental and audiology exercises on Carlo. 😆
Anyway, that’s it for the Tateroni for now. If he needs surgery, we will desperately need to fundraise as Queen City Pitties Animal Rescue has SEVERAL fosters with medical needs.
P.S. This is a used baby carrier that we cut holes into in prep for traveling with Tater in a couple of weeks. 😅
Happy Halloween!!! Who’s gonna take this Beanie Baby boy home for his treats?! 😍🥰 #khalon
