Ghost needs to start chemotherapy treatment ASAP and we need your help. Please consider making a life-saving donation this #GivingTuesday

We had our trusted oncologist review all Ghost's records and he has come to the conclusion that the cancer from the removed testicular tumors has indeed spread to his lymph nodes within his abdomen. Ghost needs to start IV chemotherapy as soon as possible.

As many of you know, we currently have one other dog receiving chemotherapy and she has continued to thrive thanks to these treatments for over two years now. We have treated quite a few others as well. Our primary goal with all our animals who are terminally ill is to maintain the highest quality of life, while giving them every opportunity to live.

Our plan with Ghost is to have another ultrasound as well as xrays done and these results will then be used to clear him to begin treatment. Ghost will then be given 2 to 3 doses of chemotherapy before re-checking with another ultrasound to see if the cancer is responding. Please help us help Ghost. Time is of the essence. 🎉 Billy went to an incredibly loving foster to adopt home yesterday. We couldn’t be more thrilled. Prior to him going we discovered Billy has a minor medical condition involving his larynx. We are working through it with our vet to get him all fixed up and then we hope we will have a foster failure on our hands. Please hold a loving thought for Billy this is his happily ever after. We rescued Billy off the streets after he was found injured. He is one of the sweetest fellows 🎉👏🤞😽

“I am thankful” ♥️ Patrick
Happy Thanksgiving. By far, one of the best yet. Today we brought Patrick to his superstar fospice mom Lisa. We have known Lisa for years and she is one in a million. Our perfect Patrick couldn’t be in more loving hands.

Before we started our journey this morning we unwrapped Patrick’s blessings blanket which is packed with prayers, love, hope, and strength. We were so thrilled when we found out that MB, one of our favorite volunteers at Fur Angel Blessings Blanketeers was making it. Mary Beth also made Nya's and one of Zion's so it is extra special she made Patrick's.

Clearly our boy hasn’t had an easy life and was neglected to the point of cruelty. But all that is in the past now. He has a whole team of humans dedicated to making the rest of his days the best days. With our whole hearts we thank each of you who made Patrick's rescue possible. In a few weeks he will be back at our vet for more re-testing and we are hoping for good news. In case you were worried Patrick wasn’t having any fun while at our vet, @hbanimalinic 😂

Upon arrival from @nycacc BACC our sweet boy received a battery of tests including an ultrasound, X-rays, and of course a full exam. The testing revealed he has kidney issues, an enlarged prostate, and while the testicular tumors were cancerous it doesn’t look to have metastasized. None the less, they have wreaked havoc with his system and Patrick now suffers from protein losing nephropathy, which is a defect in the filtering system of the kidneys resulting in the loss of protein and plasma from the blood rather than only the waste products meant to leave the body.

For this reason only neutering and the testicular tumors were removed during surgery the other day as his medical team only wanted him under anesthesia as long as was absolutely necessary. We are hoping that in a few weeks when these tests are repeated this will have improved due to the removal of the cancerous testicular tumors. If that happens we can have his teeth done as well as the removal of other masses on his body.

In the week since we rescued Patrick he has known only the gentle touch of loving hands, respect, and what if feels like to be truly loved. Appropriately, tomorrow on Thanksgiving, Patrick will be going to his fospice mom Lisa's house. It will undoubtedly be his best Thanksgiving yet. Stay tuned… ♥️
