❤️🐾🐾Zirkel Pupdate🐾🐾❤️

We rescued Zirkel in February 2020 from a puppy mill because the breeder thought she had a heart murmur and she was no longer an asset to them. Unfortunately it was more than a heart murmur. The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center Cardiology Department diagnosed our little girl with a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). While these can sometimes be repaired and some cause no serious problems, her problem is complicated by some other abnormalities.
Fast forward to last month and a wonderful family adopted Zirkel knowing and accepting her heart conditions. They have already taken her to a cardiologist. We won’t go into all the details but no surgery or medications are needed at this time. She will be checked again in 6 months. Basically she gets to live a happy life and the adopters will address her heart conditions as needed.
Today Zirkel visited residents at a senior assisted living facility 💗
From her adopter “We just finished our first gig in assisted living/skilled nursing. Zirkel was the ideal therapy dog. She loved everybody and everybody loved her. I wanted to get some pictures with the residents, but the majority of them did not want a photo taken. I did get a picture of her with the activities Director. Zirkel has been invited to come back again next month. Pretty cool success story for a sick little dog from a puppy mill.”
