Some people don't care for the expression "foster failure", but in the rescue world it refers to the joyful situation in which a foster family falls in love with the dog(s) that come into their home and want them to stay forever. Fosters Kristina and Travis knew beautiful shepherd Courage fit right in with them, so their "foster failure" has become a permanent resident! Now named Muddy Waters, he joins cat Satchmo (see the music theme here?) in their downtown home, and we celebrate such a great fit! #BeAFosterHome #TryThemOnForSize #WhenItsRightItsRight #HappyBark
He's feeling LUCKY today! Are you feeling like good fortune is coming your way, too? Maybe the two of you are meant for one another! Smiley boy Lucky has had fun being fostered at Lucky Dog Stay and Play but now he's ready to settle down in a home of his own. Lucky is two years old and a solid 50 pounds of affection. He likes people, pups and purr-ers (that would be cats), is affable and a staff favorite amongst caretakers because he's such a sweet fella. Applications for Lucky are available at happybark.org so you can make his dreams come true. And yours, too! #BigOleGrin #HomeForTheHolidays #EveryoneNeedsMoreLuck! #HappyBark
Now HERE is a story that will grab your attention. When this handsome, wistful eleven month old terrier mix was first picked up as a stray, he was found to have a gunshot wound to his back leg! 😲So what did the shelter staff name him? Why, they called him Bullet, of course. And what a guy he is! A 60 pound affectionate goofball, Bullet walks politely on a leash, is housetrained and playful, enjoys dogs, tolerates cats, and defiles anything chewable. He has such an interesting face and so much going on in that head behind stunning blueblueblue eyes. Handsome coloring and one brown/one spotted ear make Bullet a standout in any crowd. If he's the guy for you, act fast by filling out an application at happybark.org so he can be home for the holidays. Forever. #WhatAGuy! #LotsOfPersonality #TheCanineSteveMcQueen #HappyBark
Joe and Holly Mihaly adopted Maxwell last December, shortly after losing their beloved shar-pei. At the time, Maxwell was a skinny ex-stray with lots of energy and little focus. Add in a 14 year old daughter in the home who immediately fell in love with him, and he with her, and this big black lab has since grown into a gorgeous, healthy and much loved family member. He and Joe visited us recently to donate literally dozens of bags of treats for our fosters and newly arrived adoptees, and it was so wonderful to see them both. Thank you to the Mihalys for your kind donation, and for giving handsome Maxwell such a terrific home! #HappyBark
