As #GivingTuesday comes to the end, Spice is wishing everyone a nighty night! 💤

Spice had surgery yesterday to remove multiple masses to be sent out for biopsy while also being spayed and having her teeth clean. We’re working to get Spice back to the condition shown in the second photo which was taken at some point prior to her being surrendered to the shelter a few weeks ago. Her once beautiful coat is being to sprout again and she seems to be feeling better each day. 🤞

The lifesaving staff asked us to pick him up that very same day because this poor dude was absolutely PETRIFIED. His new foster mom Peggy did just that. Fast forward two days later and Cooper is fast friends with his foster dad and settling in perfectly.

Brownie is adopted and also now a Canadian resident! 🇨🇦

He caught the eye of a Louise and David who operate a 25 acre winery outside of Buffalo, New York and could not have been a more perfect fit for Brownie and his quirks. They took the time to get to know Brownie from afar with the help of Brownie’s dedicated foster family and made the road trip home just before Thanksgiving. He is settling right into his new role as a @featherstonewinery dog. We couldn’t be happier for this once homeless Philly dog!

🚨Emergency Funds Needed!🚨

Our poor Malibu has been rushed to Blue Pearl and is currently undergoing emergency exploratory surgery to find what could be causing acute GI distress. X-rays showed that he may have a linear foreign body obstruction or a perforation. Malibu’s blood pressure is low and his body temp is low but it was imperative he go right into surgery to address the issue. Anesthesia will be risky and we’re crossing everything that he pulls through.

On top of it, Malibu’s vet visit and surgery is estimated to cost us between $6,900 and 8,600. Such a big surprise vet bill will impact our ability to pull more urgent animals so we’re hoping for help recouping some of the cost. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We’re thankful for our foster families and supporters who allow us to save Philly’s senior pets including our newest addition ROXY!

Roxy was surrendered to @acctphilly at the age of 12 because her family was moving and couldn’t bring her along. Roxy did great in her dog meets at the shelter and is just an all around sweet girl. She’s settling in perfectly in her foster home with new COEL foster, Carolina who we met at last month’s @evilgeniusbeer event. Stay tuned for updates!

Meet our newest little grandpa, Frankford! Estimated to be around 13, Frankford was found as a stray and brought to @brandywinespca. Poor little man is almost completely blind due to cataracts so it’s surprising he managed as a stray. He has almost no teeth and needs a dental to address the rest. He’s also currently being treated for a skin infection.

This tiny guy only joined us yesterday but has already made himself at home in foster care, evidenced by the fact that he’s decided to take a nap ON TOP of his 20 year old foster sister, Flower. 😂

A timestamped save! Welcome to City of Elderly Love, Minnie! 🐭

This tiny 15 year old girl was surrendered to @acctphilly due to her previous owners’ own health issues. They described her as a happy, loving girl but the scary shelter turned her into a lunging, bitey little thing, absolutely terrified of her surroundings. Minnie was timestamped for euthanasia this morning but her new foster mom Sabine was determined to get her out of there and is excited to get her back to her happy self.

In addition to decompression, Minnie is also in need of some vet care to feel better. Her skin is itchy, her fur is patchy and her mouth appears to be a mess.
