Arooooo! Hi I’m Daisy Duke, and while I probably won’t look super hot in short shorts, I will be your best friend and help keep you warm on cold nights. I’m about 10-12 months old, and full grown at about 50 pounds. I’m a gorgeous big-floppy-ear’d brindle colored Plott Hound. My family surrendered me to the shelter last week, I don’t understand why they never came back for me. Aren’t homes suppose to be forever? The ladies here tell me it was not my fault, and that I didn’t do anything wrong. So here I am taking applications for a new home, this time a forever one preferably. Keep in mind I’m to be an indoor doggy thats part of the family. While I no doubt would love outside time, I wouldn’t make a very good lawn ornament and I’m not much of a hunter. You know how zebras all look alike but really aren’t? Their black stripes are unique to each zebra, just like my beauty marks are unique to me. That’s one reason you should adopt me - I’m one of a kind! I’m really a sweet kitty looking for a nice quiet home, maybe with older kids who understand that while I like being held I’m not a toy. Full disclosure, they say I may have bartonella which can cause “cat scratch fever” in some humans with compromised immune systems (it’s how I ended up here). About 30-40% of shelter cats have it and it’s usually caught by infected fleas (so it’s not my fault). Just keep me indoors, up to date on flea meds and my claws trimmed and we’ll both be fine and dandy. Yo dawgs! Murphy here. I need a favor in a bad way. I don’t know what happened that I ended up here, but here I sit and I’m not too sure about these new digs. Kind of feels like doggy jail and get this.. they don’t serve anything but dog food here! I have tried asking for a beer a few times and I’m just met with blank stares. Just wait till I leave my Yelp review! So this is where you come in. I need someone with opposable thumbs to help me break out of here. I’ve tried and tried but my lack of thumbs seems to be an issue. If you have opposable thumbs and wouldn’t mind a really good dog hanging around I would sure appreciate you helping me blow this popsicle stand! I’m about 3 years old, know how to play nice with other dogs, and I would appreciate a craft beer now and again. Except that dogs don’t drink. No thumbs and we can’t have beer, damn we sure got the short end of that stick.

This has been a year of a lot of black cats and they tend to sit in shelters longer than other cats.
