Until November 30 donate a bag of selected brand dog food or cat litter and be entered to win a FREE spay or neuter voucher for either a dog or cat. At 16 years old you never know what life will throw at you. Sometimes it's bad but you have to just go with the flow and smile. You have to have the courage to give life another chance. I’m living proof of that. Name is Cubby. I am a 16-year-old Chihuahua Mix. I weigh 10 pounds and I love to cuddle. I am not aggressive, but I will need someone to help me through the rest of my life. See, I am partially blind and deaf. Don’t get me wrong, I can tend to myself most of the time. I am kennel trained and I do not make a mess. I do my business outside. I just need my human to just make sure we are in a calm surrounding. I am a peaceful guy, and I really don’t do much. I do love to cuddle and sit with my human. That is the nicest feeling. I play with some toys but most of the time I just want to relax with you and just be beside you. I don’t mind sleeping in my kennel, but I prefer to be out of it the rest of the day. Other dogs are fine, but since I am older, I don’t think I could be around puppies. Dogs my size and close to my age would be ideal. I am not too fond of cats. I am good with young adults. Kids are a bit rough sometimes. I am also up to date on my shots and have been neutered. So you see, I am ready to go. You just send an email to these fine people at SPSPCA and we can set up a meeting. I will be at adoptions from 11am to 2pm on Saturday. If you truly want me, you need to be there early. I look forward to meeting you and having an awesome future with you in my life. My adoption fee is $150 but that includes all my shots, spay, and microchip. You can email for more information on me at adoptions.spspca@gmail.com
Hi! I’m Sarandon! I am a sweet girl from the Famous Susan litter ( Mom’s name is Suzie, so each of our names is actually a last name of a famous Susan) I was born on August 25th, so that makes me right at 12 weeks old. Mom and dad were both rescued when I was just a little spec in mama’s tummy, so I have been brought up in a healthy, loving home with mom and my siblings- its; been a great life so far. My mom is a 15 pound, white and brown wire hair terrier mix, and dad looks about the same, weighing about 20 pounds, but all brown, with some brindle color. There are 7 of us so I’m used to sleeping with my littermates and spending the day with them. I am ready to start sleeping in a crate, but I will need someone to be patient with me while I adjust to sleeping alone. Maybe a stuffed animal to sleep with would help. I currently potty on a puppy pad or outside, but don’t have a lot of free roam in my foster house. I will need to learn where to potty and how to let you know when I need to go….so please work with me. I am a fun energetic puppy and am ready for my human family!
Sarandon is eligible for the Foster to Adopt Program through the rescue. To qualify for this you must live in Lubbock County. If your application is approved, you pay a $100 non-refundable deposit to take her home. She must brought back to the rescue for all scheduled vaccinations (you will be given a schedule) and also taken to her spay which will be scheduled by the rescue. Once fully vetted we finalize her adoption and at that time you pay the remaining $50 of the adoption fee. During her time before adoption please keep in mind she can not go outside so potty pads must be used to keep her safe from exposure to parvo. She can not be taken to parks, on walks or even to Petsmart unless you carry her the entire time. Her foster family has worked hard to keep her safe and well and the rescue will trust her family to continue keeping her safe.
Please email adoptions.spspca@gmail.com if you would like to meet Sarandon or come meet her at the SPSPCA adoption event this Saturday starting at 11:00.
Meet Trixie. She is a 9 month old pit mix girl. She is very sweet and loves being with her people. She is shy at first but warms up quickly. Trixie needs a home that will let her run and play with her to get her energy out. Trixie can not be left outside alone for periods of time as she will get bored, miss her family and start digging in the yard from the anxiety. She needs a family that understands she needs lots of patience and professional training would be a good idea. Trixie is mostly housetrained but will need a patient family to help her master this. She does stay in a kennel when her foster family is not at home. She loves to play with toys and with her people! Her adoption fee is $150 and this includes her vaccinations, spay, and microchip. If you’re interested in Trixie, email adoptions.spspca@gmail.com to set a meeting.
~October Foster of the Month~
The South Plains SPCA Fosters of the Month for October are Lindsey and Clifton. Lindsey started fostering with the SPCA back in 2014. Clifton joined her in fostering in 2017 and has been such an amazing help! Lindsey has no idea how many dogs she fostered by herself, she says “it’s a lot and I wish I had kept track!”She and Clifton have fostered 31 dogs together since 2017. When asked if they have a favorite foster Lindsey said
“Our Little Sadie AKA foster fail! We got her as a foster and never would have guessed we would end up adopting her. She has been the best addition to our pack. She was an owner surrender and has been a special case since the day she came home with us. We realized we never wanted her to leave, so we adopted her in July 2021!”
Lindsey has this to say about fostering and the South Plains SPCA:
“Fostering has by far been one of our greatest blessings. We both get such a fulfillment in helping each dog we have encountered. Being a part of their journey from street to home helps me sleep better at night. We will forever be thankful to the SPSPCA for all their love, loyalty, knowledge & dedication they show the animals in our community and in the world every single day. Everyone is such an inspiration to us! We learn so much from our amazing SPSPCA team every day. I always say we will help animals in need “until my last breath” and I mean it. ❤️”
A BIG thank you goes out to Lindsey and Clifton! The South Plains SPCA couldn’t do it without you.
Need a sweet little girl? Meet me, Cupcake! I was found in the rural streets with a badly injured eye. The nice folks at the SPSPCA took me to the vet where they determined I was better off without it. So now I’m a happy, healthy one eyer…. But that doesn’t slow me down one bit. I love to cuddle and you will probably always find me by your side. I also like to play with the other dogs in my house and cuddle with the 3 year old human here too. At first the 2 year old human scared me but now that we have an understanding that I don’t like loud noises I love to lay with him in bed while we get our night time story read to us. I also love to run in his room, jump in the bed and wake him up in the morning. So I would probably be best in a home without little ones. I am not fond of cats, so a home with felines is a no go for me. I am spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. This is all included in my $150 adoption fee. Come see me this Saturday at the South Plains SPCA (7901 highway 87 building 119) adoption from 11am-2pm! You can also email adoptions.spspca@gmail.com with any questions.
We will NOT have dog adoptions at our facility this Saturday.
We are having our adoption event at Llano Estacado Winery from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday. Bring your dog and get a free Halloween Costume. Come see our adorable adoptable dogs!
Hi guys!
Annie here 💕 I am a 5 year old American bulldog mix.
I have been in foster care for over 1,000 days and really wish my forever family would come find me soon. I am a good girl just need the right people to understand me. I am good with other smaller male dogs after a proper introduction takes place. I am good with kids but would do best with older kids because I sometimes forget my size and just want to kiss and say hi to everyone. I am on a special urinary food and will have to be on that until a veterinarian says otherwise.
I am up to date on shots, microchip and spayed for the adoption fee of $150. If interested in adopting me please email adoptions.spspca@gmail.com
Ps you can take me on a one week home trial to see if we are a perfect match 🥰
Meet Sunshine🌞
Sunshine is a 11 month old mix. She was given a second chance by the SPSPCA after she was attacked and nearly lost her life. Although she has been through a lot on her journey, she lives up to her name and is a little ray of sunshine! She loves to play catch in the yard with her foster mom and has also been learning some basic commands. Sunshine is crate trained and loves playing with stuffed animals. She currently lives with two other dogs that she loves to play with. She has not been around many other dogs but would love to schedule a play date with anyone who is interested! She is still a puppy so she has a lot of energy and would love a home where she can continue to learn and play catch but most of all be loved by a forever family♡.
