Hello to all of our dog and puppy lovers.
This is a sad story and we received a desperate plea for help for this dog and her puppies.

A friend of the person who sent this bought a house where the family was evicted. The evicted family left ALL of their animals. Cats, dogs and this mama with puppies. The house is going to be demolished and rebuilt.

The mom and babies are the first priority since the puppies are so young. Mama is friendly.

We cover all vet bills, which also includes getting mama and babies spayed/neutered, dewormed and vaccinated, once old enough. We can also provide food for mama and puppies.
We will feature them on Petfinder, once they are ready, for adoption and they can come to our Petsmart/Petco adoption days.

Meet handsome Buddy Holly.
He is a friendly 6 month old tuxedo.

Buddy was having some problems urinating. He kept going to the box, and nothing was happening. Something clearly was not right, so he went to the vet today. 

Turned out this poor baby has a urethral obstruction, his urethra is very short, maybe a birth defect. Right now he is obstructed, has bleeding and it is infected. He needs a catheter placed overnight, IV fluid, lab, sedation and multiple medications. He will also need a special diet, so this hopefully doesn't happen again.

It is going to run over $1100.

The vet said she was surprised he was not crying more, his urethra is so swollen and blocked. Only a little urine would come out at a time. When she palpated his bladder bloody urine came out. That was before he had a catheter put in.

The vet said with all of this done for him, along with a special diet, he can possibly avoid surgery.

We are hoping to have a fundraiser for this little guy, so he can be more comfortable and play like the sweet kitten we know again!

Please read what happened with
this sweet boy Blue.

One of our volunteers saw him get hit by a car, and as she was helping him, a homeless woman said this was her dog. Someone gave him to her 3 weeks ago, to replace her former dogs who had been killed or stolen. 😞

Longer sad story, but we convinced her to let us take him. He was taken to our vet and examined, x-rayed and given pain meds for now. It turns out he needs FHO surgery for a broken leg.
We are going to have him neutered and heartworm tested and everything else at the same time.

Poor dog.

Poor woman.
(She did not seem to understand what was going on a good portion of the time, but we feel she did realize that we were taking Blue to help him. Our volunteer who saw the dog and met the woman, took the woman to her house, let her take a shower, gave her a meal, and some clean clothes and offered to let her stay there for a couple of days. She declined, and chose to go back to live on the street.) 

We are hoping to raise funds toward this costly surgery, and everything else he will need to have done, while he is staying at our vet clinic. (link in bio)

Blue will also eventually need a foster home since his rescuer was not really set up to take in a dog, but could not just leave him there, injured.
