Candy Corn is a fan of the extreme close ups! And we love that about her!! She is a super friendly and playful 3 month old Heeler. Candy loves to meet new people, meet new dogs and take car trips to Starbucks for puppuccinos. Kids are her favorite, she hasn’t met any cats while with us.

Candy Corn is not yet ready for adoption, but she is looking for a foster home starting Thursday. We do offer a foster to adopt program for her. HHDR is looking for adopters that are familiar with her breed. Heelers are a special kind and we would like for Candy to go to a forever home that has experience.

Our beautiful and sweet girl Daisy is looking for a forever home. She is a medical needs dog and will require a very special and caregiving person to adopt her. Daisy has been diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), which is a disease effecting the spinal cord. It results in slowly progressive hind limb weakness and paralysis. Daisy’s symptoms will worsen over time, but HHDR will be with her adopter every step of the way. We will help cover vet costs and mobility aids when the time comes.

Daisy is a very loving and kind girl. She does well with other dogs, kids and cats. She is still very mobile, but we are not sure how long she has been symptomatic.

Daisy was about to be euthanized in a South Texas kill shelter. Before that she was forced to live on a chain in someone’s backyard. Her owner dumped her at the shelter when he noticed her medical issues.

We want our Daisy to find her forever home and know what it’s like to be loved unconditionally by a caring family before her symptoms begin to worsen. Doesn’t this sweet girl deserve that?

Oscar is a precious puppy that has received zero interest. We just don’t get it!! This kid is a little more reserved and chiller than his brother, but he is the absolute sweetest and he loves to cuddle. He’ll even let you hold him like a baby and give him belly scratches. Penny is another amazing kid we have had for a while. She came to HHDR in March. This girl is super sweet, super funny and super adorable. Penny is still looking for her forever family. She loves to play with toys, cuddle and nap. Play time sometimes includes throwing the ball for herself and running around the yard with it. She’ll also make you laugh hysterically while she plays with her bully stick. Penny loves to go for walks. Handsome Doug has been with HHDR since February and we are baffled. This kid is incredibly loving, kind and smart. He gets along amazingly with other dogs and loves to give kids kisses. Doug loves to play with ALL of his foster sib’s toys, enjoys going for walks and he makes an amazing patio pup!
