We are looking for compassionate people who share our love for helping animals to join our little family of volunteers. Our greatest need right now is volunteers to join our TNR team to help with either trapping or transporting.

To say we have an abundance of TNR assistance requests would be an understatement... we have over 100 locations across central Virginia that we are working tirelessly to help with. These locations span across the city of Lynchburg, Campbell County, Amherst County, Appomattox County, Halifax County, Pittsylvania County, and Roanoke.

We need more boots on the ground to trap cats. We need help with transporting these cats to/from the vet for surgery. We need help rescuing young kittens from colonies to give them a chance at an indoor life. Even helping once a month would be a huge help, and we would be so grateful. We need YOU. TNR stands for Trap-Neuter-Return; a simple concept that is often overlooked. Why is TNR important? It's the only humane and effective option for managing the outdoor cat overpopulation crisis. If you don't believe we have a cat overpopulation problem, then go visit a shelter, go volunteer with a rescue, and I promise you will see the crisis first hand.

Have you ever asked yourself why every rescue or shelter gets flooded with hundreds of kittens every year? These are kittens that were born on the streets, behind dumpsters, in someone's backyard. These kittens are born to community cats which are the stray and feral cats that live and thrive within our community. Kittens will continue to suffer and die until we target the problem at the source - the community cats. Getting them fixed prevents countless litters, prevents suffering, curbs unwanted behaviors. TNR is the solution.

Sir Thomas update ❤🐈

We discovered last week that Sir Thomas is FIV+, and unfortunately, all the prospective homes for him have fallen through the cracks 😭

Sir Thomas is currently loving life inside in the warmth with lots of delicious food and lots of head rubs. He spends most of his day curled up on a comfy cat bed with a blanket making his sweet biscuits. Did we mention that he is basically a pro biscuit maker? He is currently looking for someone to give him a chance at a forever family so he doesn't have to live life on the streets.

FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus and basically means that he will have a weakened immune system for the rest of his life. That being said, FIV+ cats can live long and healthy lives, and can even live in harmony with other cats (as long as there is no fighting).
