JJ and Buster were surrendered at a high kill shelter in Kentucky together this past spring and luckily came up to WI but had to be separated to get into foster homes so today they were finally able to REUNITE!!!
JJ was definitely more hesitant between the two but Buster, sweet old man Buster, has major tail wags and could not stop smelling his long lost bff.
Emotional overload 😭 😍 😭
JJ already has an approved adoption application in but we are still looking for that perfect furever home to let Buster live out the rest of his days with lots of love, blankets, tail wags and treats 💗

Remember Jago!?
When we got him a few months ago he had a GIANT mass on his side. We got it removed and it was determined that it was cancerous but he was only 10months old and we were confident that the entire mass was removed.
a few weeks later he had a 2nd surgery removing another mass.
Now we had an appointment this morning as he has TWO more lumps.
We got xrays done and the vet is confident that he can successfully remove them.
To give Jago more time we need to raise $600 by FRIDAY.
This covers today's xrays and the surgery we are scheduling as soon as funds are raised.
Jago is just over a year old and such a happy and loved sweet boy.

Buster is looking for love and attention in his golden years. He is a 75 pound Pit Bill mix and would love to spends his days sleeping and get his head scratched. Buster is deaf and we have only heard him bark once, but he is able to get his needs across by placing his head in your lap. Buster wears a diaper when indoors because he “leaks” a little (the joys of getting old), but if taken out in regular increments he does his business outdoors. We have trained him to wait when he come back indoors to get his diaper back on. Buster loves to eat and loves his treats. He also loves to go on walks (if it isn’t too hot outside), but he is slow because he wants to smell every inch of the ground. Buster is very easy going around other dogs and people and even ignores our cranky cat. Buster is not able navigate stairs, so he sleeps in his favorite bed at night in our living room. Someone looking to give a forever home to A senior dog who just needs love.

Seriously, ask any of your local rescues or shelters right now on how many "pandemic adoptions" aren't panning out anymore because everyone wants to travel again, go up north, take road trips, etc...it is beyond discouraging and infuriating and it's REALLY NOT OKAY 🤬
Obviously we try to post mostly upbeat happy positive updates but this is a real problem and it's getting out of hand. Can you imagine being the shelter employee who gets the daunting task of taking in the owner surrenders all-day long trying to not be frustrated and holding back their judgement. And the general public wonders why turnover rates can be so high of shelter employees? 🤔
Rescues are volunteer based and it is just as difficult to keep fosters and volunteers to stay committed when it's a neverending problem. 🙄
People wondered why we wouldn't adopt any of our dogs out over quarantine...if everyone had any idea how many inquiries we get from those looking to surrender their band-aid pet they got over the last year+ they would show more compassion and support from those of us standing in the mud trying to keep our chin up and keep moving forward. 😔
Who else is as happy as our girl Winnie that the humidity FINALLY took a break for us! 😅
Miss Winifred IS available for adoption. She absolutely ADORES children 👦🥰🧒 just not kitty cats. 🚫🐈🚫
She LOVES her walks and is such a smiley happy senior with a lot of pep in her step and truly has such a great personality. 🤩

So what does that mean!? 🤔
We are looking for families to get pre-approved to become part of our foster team here at @wooflodge_rescue 👨👩👧👦
If you are interested in helping us save more dogs and would like to join in on fostering we have just a few requirements:
🐾 You love dogs
🐾 You live in the Fox Cities
🐾 No criminal history of animal abuse or neglect
🐾 If you rent it's not impossible but we do need landlord approval and will verify.
We provide food, kennels, toys, treats, vetting, and everything else needed. ☑️
In order for us to keep saving more dogs and helping with local surrenders we need more available fosters. We get requests every week, if not DAILY, for people who need help and it's defeating when we constantly have to stay no because we have nowhere for them to go 🥺

To say the last week, if not month, has been a whirlwind leading up to our event this past Sunday is a grave understatement.
We genuinely want to thank all of our volunteers for pulling together and making it such a success. We know it was quite the undertaking but appreciate each and everyone of you who gave up your Sunday to make it a hit. Special shout-out to the vet tech staff from @wellnessvetclinic whom came out and not only supported us but volunteered with us! You all are amazing!
We want to thank the wonderful staff at @tannersgrillandbar for letting us host our fundraiser, serving us yummy food and drinks, and helping us setup and breakdown. It was MUCH appreciated.
We want to thank all of our amazing sponsors and local businesses who donated $, gift cards, raffle items, silent auction baskets, etc...every single one was a success.
We want to thank everyone who supported us and came out and showed us so much love and spent your hard earned money on all the items we had. We know how valuable you are but want to express it because without YOU we wouldn't be in existence still saving lives.
And lastly we want to just say a general but sincere thank you to our local community. We are very blessed in the Fox Valley that so many amazing humans want to make a difference for our furbabies and we do not take that for granted.
We are going to take the holiday weekend to enjoy with our friends and family but will be back to business after Memorial Day!
