Sweet available Ganache has had a rough start. As a baby, she was left in a crate with her mama and brother in front of a shelter in Alabama. Since being rescued this beautiful 8-month-old gal has been trying her best to adjust to her new life in the city. She is looking for a patient someone who can give the necessary love and attention a Badass like herself deserves.

Ganache, Tamia Cooper, and Selma are just a few of the many amazing pups we have in our rescue. One of the only reasons we were able to take them in is our fosters. We have an urgent need for at least 20 new fosters to help us get through the holiday season and care for these amazing Badass dogs. We can’t do this work without fosters—it’s as simple as that. They open up their homes to care for these pups until they find their forever homes and they are the backbone of our rescue. Over the past decade, with your support, we've been able to rescue more than 3,000 dogs from high kill shelters in the southern states, rehabilitate them, and find them new homes.

Dogs like seniors Selma (pictured) and Wannabe who we discovered on our recent rescue mission in Selma, Alabama, haven't had it easy. After growing up in a home together, they lived a full life until their owner passed suddenly. Being left alone in their home for a month, they were nearly hairless from flea infestation when finally rescued. Selma was thrown from a moving car as a puppy which resulted in damage to her face. But, in true Badass fashion, that hasn't stopped her from being a social and loving dog.

As we round out our 10th Anniversary year, we’re committed to finding a new home for Wannabe & Selma but until that happens, there are costs to keeping them healthy, well-fed, and safe. That’s where you come in.

We’re nearing the end of Adopt a Senior Pet month, but our work with senior dogs will never stop.

As a rescue that doesn’t discriminate based on age, breed or health status, we’ve worked with hundreds of senior dogs over the past 10 years. Whether it be one of our special seniors over the years or one of the six seniors we currently have waiting for their forever homes, each of these amazing dogs fills a unique hole in adopters lives and make wonderful companions.

“Captain's Log - Frankie has been onboard the good ship Apartment for six months now and morale has never been higher. A highly intelligent yet extremely silly being, we have learned to communicate with her and finally found a squeaky toy that she can't chew through. She is an excellent ambassador to others of her kind at the dog park, and enjoys both away missions around the neighborhood and her work as Chief of Couch Affairs. She is a full-fledged, extremely cuddly and playful member of the crew and we are very lucky to have her. Thank you to Badass for bringing us together with our best friend Frankie!”
