I'd like you all to meet Lily...this picture doesn't do her justice. She's so sweet and loves attention. She's been hanging out in our adult open room for a few days and doesn't seem to mind the other cats. If she seems like she could be your next furry friend give us a call for a meet and greet!

Sometimes its not just cats and dogs that come to the shelter. Today, an injured hawk came to our doors. Since this isn't our specialty we transported the poor guy to Peace River Wildlife Center - PRWC to be cared for. 🙏

Everyone here at the shelter, EXPECIALLY the pups want to send a big thanks out to ERS Construction
We needed a section of fence to replace parts in our kennel, and ERS Construction came through. Small acts of kindness like this help us provide the best care possible to the pets in the shelter.
We couldn't do what we do without the generosity of this community!!! 🐶

The “Help End Local Pet-overpopulation” program is a partnership between Charlotte County Animal Control and the Animal Welfare League of Charlotte County for a new program to provide low-cost sterilization for pets of Charlotte County residents.

Yesterday we were asked to spend some time helping the residents of Truewood by Merrill, Charlotte Center make some homemade dog treats for the pups at the shelter. 🦴🐶💜
Stay tuned next week to see how well the pups think we did!!!
