Triton (tabby) & Maya (black) have been with us since they were just a week old. They have been bottle fed and cared for around the clock by one of our dedicated volunteers. 🍼 They have finally started eating on their own and will be available for adoption in a few weeks. River has been searching for a family to call his own for over a year 🥺 He is currently boarding at a dog sitter’s home where he gets to play with other pups everyday. As you can see from his huge smile..he loves it there but he can’t stop dreaming about his forever home! River is a 3 yr old shepherd mix. He is a shy and gentle boy with 0 aggression. He gets along great with other dogs, is playful & has a great disposition. He just needs time in new environments with new people to feel safe. He’s timid so a quiet home with a backyard is where he’d flourish & do best. He’s come all the way from the British Virgin Islands to find his forever home. Please welcome 2 new puppies from our rescue partner, @santuario.sasfapr! They are a small rescue organization based in Puerto Rico who’s mission is dedicated solely to helping street dogs/cats in PR find forever homes. 🇵🇷 ❤️ They are constantly taking in strays & newborn litters off of the streets. These dogs/cats are usually skinny, full of parasites/fleas, and need immediate medical attention! There are only five shelters housing stray dogs across all 78 municipalities in Puerto Rico. These shelters report a euthanasia rate of 94%. The goal is to find them all loving homes but in order to do that, they need our help!
The more dogs we can place in foster homes and adopt out, the more dogs they will be able to save! This is especially important during this time of the year, when Puerto Rico is being threatened by hurricanes & tropical storms. The puppies will need to be examined by our vet, vaccinated & be neutered/spayed before becoming available for adoption. Updates coming soon!
