Good news/bad news!!! Remember, Dodo-famous Bello? He is finally ready to travel to Canada! His future foster mama Carly booked a trip to Cancun so she can personally bring him home. Hearing that WestJet was coming out with a program for rescues, she decided to book WestJet for herself, her partner and her mom. Our trio was prepared to help out! Sadly, WJ's new program no longer allows us to return empty crates to Mexico, so Carly learned she was traveling down empty handed. But, she was happy that the airline approved a waiver to bring Bello home on her flight! Today, she received a note that WJ is only not supporting non-profits (vs registered charities) and they have retracted the previously approved waiver for Bello! This is heartbreaking for Bello, for his foster family, our front line rescue - and really for non-profits just trying to help! Lesson learned!

Congratulations to this handsome guy - now known as Spencer!!! Our past adopter approached us a few months ago, looking for another dog, to keep existing pup Monica Geller company. Their family had their eye on a few recent terriers, but the ruling on the cat tests deemed them to be not a match. So we kept looking and we let our front line rescue partner (Monica Geller's rescuer, no less!) know that MG would love a canine friend in her life. Of course, Gabi found the best match for us all. Thank you to Chelsea and family for being part of our "foster to adopt" program and fostering him in his first days in Canada. Thank you to our behind the scenes team - Donna, Katherine and Christine - for helping to pull the pieces together. And thank you to Christiane, for being the most amazing flight parent. Congratulations to Lucy and her new family! This pretty little girl received a lot of attention and we had a challenging time narrowing down the applications for her. Thank you to foster family Carly and crew for working through the details. And, special thanks for giving her up. As fosters, we all fall in love with our rescues, but the bittersweet part of the process allows them to leave the nest, so you can help more dogs find their people too. We just wanted to throw an extra thank you to our pals at Air Canada. Maybe we are just a bit excited (emotional!?) that travel is starting to take off again, and things are getting a flair of normalcy. Air Canada's partnership with DIBS is back on track and they are helping us get dogs into rescue - 2,3 or 4 at a time! And, huge bonus, they help us get our front line rescues crates back to Mexico where more dogs can be saved. The crates do not help much while sitting in Canada, but have a huge impact on the front line. We are happy to let Volaris fans know that she has found her forever home! She came to us from our pals at The Dog-Go Project in Puebla and was picked up and fostered by Vicky until Critter Cabs volunteers were able to get her to her foster home in Ottawa. Ameenah and crew were happy to foster her (canine Luci gets so excited when she gets to show a new dog around). Volaris' new family had actually applied for Ameenah's previous foster, but they were not a match for her. But, we liked their app and we thought Volaris could be a fit, so we sent V onto Ameenah to see if she could be a match. And - she was!!! Thank you to Shirali and Jackie for screening V's new family. We got an update from Mole's foster parents! "AMAZING trip to Ottawa. Mole travels like a dream in the car. We visited Ren’s, Canadian Tire, Cabelas and Princess Auto. She walked/sat beautifully, checked out people, got to share kisses, and had plenty of treats. She checks in with her humans but is all about leading the way. A woman asked us how long we’d been training her - so kudos to the charm school volunteers at PAR!" Such a great update! We are reviewing applications for Mole.
