Sam is a four year old Indian-Priah dog from Ferozepur, Punjab. He was rescued on Dec 12, 2020. Sam was run over by a car, and their team was contacted by one of the army personnel when they were in the area doing a spay and neuter initiative at the border of India and Pakistan.
Sam arrived in Toronto on October 26, 2021 and has been cared for by an amazing foster family. Sam is waiting patiently for his forever family but his needs are expensive! To date, we have happily spent $950 on his vetting care with more appointments on the horizon.
Your impact can still be doubled! Donate today to support Sam!
Hanukkah Sameach! 💙
We hope that all those celebrating the Festival of Lights have a meaningful holiday with those who are near and dear to their hearts.
Beep beep 🛻 today we spotlight our transport team!
New Collar Collective is a not-for-profit animal rescue organization committed to alleviating animal homelessness. In pursuit of this mission, New Collar Collective rescues stray, abandoned, abused, or surrendered companion animals requiring care, attention and human assistance.
This often takes us to different parts of the country and sometimes out of the country to do our work. Your donations support our transport team and their invaluable work to bring dogs across federal and provincial borders and into loving foster homes.
Donate today to have your impact doubled!
Vet bills are expensive 💵
Take a look at some of the average vetting costs for each animal that we bring into the rescue. Upon arrival, all vetting costs are paid for by New Collar Collective. We have partnerships with several vet clinics in the GTA and every foster animal is required to see a vet within 2 weeks of coming into our care. All rescues will be microchipped, receive necessary vaccinations, and be spayed/neutered before they are adopted to prevent further homeless animals.

If you haven’t met him already, this is Sam. Sam is partially paralyzed after being hit by a car. He uses a wheelchair to get around and prefers to have a drag bag over his feet than to be strapped up in a sling.
Sam is in need of some more pee pads. If you are able, we would greatly appreciate some donations from our Amazon wishlist. You can find the link in our bio 🛍
Even if you’re not in a position to adopt, foster or volunteer, there are other ways you can give back to a pet in need! What better way to recognize someone close to you this holiday season than by sponsoring a pet in their honour?
Our Sponsor A Pet program gives you the ability to help cover some of the expenses involved in rescue such as vetting, transport and supplies.

Meet Hutch! He is shy guy who is curious about everything in this big world. Hutch is a big fans of snuggles and pets. He can be a bit timid with new people, especially men but is very interested in sniffing new friends and prefers slow introductions. Hutch absolutely loves other dogs. His tail starts to wag as soon as he sees another dog. Hutch loves to play with other dogs his size but is also respectful and more gentle with smaller pups.
Hutch walks well on leash and will only pull if he really wants to sniff something or meet another dog. He is doing great with crate training and settles quite easily. Hutch is fully potty trained. He would benefit from some additional work on boosting his confidence and becoming more comfortable around strangers.
Hutch’s ideal home would be with a loving family who will provide him with lots of walks, cuddles and the additional support he needs to truly come out of his shell and be a more confident dog. He can be timid at times so a calmer household would suit him best. Hutch would be happy to share his home with another dog. He has not had any exposure to cats. He has not interacted directly with children but often walks past a school yard and is not phased by the noises. He would most likely do well with older, dog savvy children.
