Angora Mountain Equine Rescues Mission is to provide world class care for abused, neglected, abandoned and unwanted Horses and Mules. We strive to provide these animals with appropriate medical care, emotional needs, proper nutrition, safe shelter, and appropriate training through skilled, compassionate handlers. We are committed to the safety and proper care of horses through public awareness and by providing clinics and seminars. We are dedicated to working with our future horse owner generations, providing special opportunities for youth groups and underprivileged children. We ensure proper placement of horses into foster and permanent homes, using rigid adoption and foster care guidelines.
Angora Mountain Equine Rescue was founded in 1992 by Norm Knight out of an unconditional love for animals. Angora Mountain was granted it's Non-Profit Status (501C-3) in July of 2009. Norm created Angora Mountain with one goal in mind. To provide the best care, environment and forever home, if needed, for Horses and Mules that have been abandoned, neglected, abused or are unwanted and have nowhere else to go to get the care and love they so richly deserve.
Norm has trained Horses the better part of his life and has a passion for passing along his knowledge to others. Throughout the year we are open to youth groups and under privileged kids to come up and see the horses and learn about these wonderful animals.
We are committed to our younger generations, and the general public as well to teach them the awesome responsibility of owning Horses which also helps them understand the responsibility of owning, caring for and loving all animals as well.
