These 10 pups were born after their mom was found in an area known for stray and unwanted dogs. Once captures it was quickly realized she was pregnant. She later gave birth to 10 puppies who are all ready for their forever homes. These babes look nothing like their 15 pound mommy. If we hadn’t been there when she gave birth we would not believe she was the mommy. Guess on their breed is Terrier and maybe some Cattle dog or Corgie with a little Jack Russel thrown in for good measure. Estimated weight is around 25 pounds give or take a few lbs. They have been raised with other dogs and school aged children and do great with everyone they meet. We will be looking for families that are ready for all the normal puppy antics and are dedicated to training so their new fur baby can be the best dog it can. If you would like to be considered for one of these pups please send us an application right away. When we have received enough applications for our adoptions counselors to assess we will put the pups on hold so if you do not see them as available on our website it is because we are no longer accepting apps for them.

Happy Thanksgiving! We would love to see pictures of you and your pooches enjoying this beautiful day! We also wanted to take the time this #thanksgiving day to give a shout out to one of our favorite small businesses @nicolecromwellart. This awesome artist creates some amazing pieces and is always first in line to donate to our fundraisers to help us make money for the pooches. The art underneath the print in this picture is one of her pieces. Every piece has thoughtful intention with encouraging words printed on the canvas before she paints. If you are looking for a one of a kind Christmas gift for that special person check out her website www.Nicolecromwellart.com. Meet Jaxx..... This sweet #jackrussellterrier boy is ready for his forever home. Jaxx loves every dog and person he meets. He is ready to join a good game of fetch, chase or tug with a future canine sibling. This guy is all puppy though so adopters should be ready for the good, the bad and the ugly that a young pup will bring. This does mean you will lose a few shoes, computer cords or toys to a teething puppy if you leave them out. of course Jaxx is a master at giving you those cute puppy dog eyes as he showers you with kisses in an attempt to say he is sorry for using your table leg as a teething toy. Potty training and patience will be needed but he is already proving to be a smart little guy and is making great strides in that area. Jaxx will make a great hiking buddy for those that are wanting a energetic yet portable pooch to join them on all the fun adventures our great state has to offer. He could go to a home with kids and do great but they should know puppy teeth are sharp and little kid arms make the best teething toys in the eyes of a puppy. Welcome to the #jakeswishfamily Jaxx. Send us an application if you would like to be considered. #jakeswishrescue #adoptdontshop #fosteringsaveslives #jakeswishfamily
Meet Rocky Road! This 4 month old #aussie #shepherdmix boy was in need of rescue when his family had an unexpected litter. They gave the other pups away but needed help with this guy. This sweet boy is pretty shut down and scared but we know the power of his amazing #foster family will have him good as new in no time. We expect Rocky Road to be in the 60 plus pound range as an adult. Welcome to the #jakeswishfamily sweet boy! We promise it’s all warm beds, full bowls of food and lots of kisses from now on. #fosteringsaveslives #jakeswishrescue #adoptdontshop
We finally feel safe to announce the newest pooch to join the Jake’s Wish family….this sweet poodle mix babe was found on the side of the road and unable to move the night after that all day rainstorm we had 2 weeks ago. After being brought to the San Jose Animal Care Center it was determined he needed rescue commitment and he needed it fast. He was unable to walk and came in severely hypothermic with a temp of 90.2 (normal is 101-102.5), he was matted so badly the shelter staff couldn’t even tell if he was male or female. He had definitely been on the streets for a long time. Our team sprung into action, formulated a plan and had him admitted to the emergency vet at Sage where they determined he was also anemic. His fur was quickly shaved off because it was flea infested, dirty and wet. IV and urinary catheters were placed and he was given a blood transfusion. After a night of pain meds and warmed IV fluids this sweet boy was sedated so we could get X-rays to determine the extent of his injuries and plan our next steps. As we suspected the sweet but scared BOY we have since named “Dave” suffered a pretty badly broken pelvis which is why he was unable to stand or walk. With such a low blood count and still a “touch and go” prognosis it was determined he would have surgery the next day to give his weak body a bit more time to become strong enough for the big surgery ahead of him. In the mean time Dave caught the heart of every vet tech and vet that cared for him. He never complained when they had to turn him every two hours because he was unable, he never complained when they would put in IV’s or gave his medications. He would just look at them with his big brown eyes and a grateful look which quickly convinced one of the vet techs she was the right person for the job of assuring his rehab goes well and he has a loving foster home until his forever home can be found. We feel we are “out of the woods” and our boy will be good as new in no time so no time better than now to say….Welcome to the Jake’s Wish Family Dave! We could not save these high cost medical dogs without our great fosters, volunteers and supporters so thank you to you all! #jakeswishrescue
Kittle is ready to find his forever home! As you may recall, this handsome pup came to us from the San Jose Shelter after presumably being hit by a car. He was not bearing weight on one of his back legs and was in a lot of pain. After seeing the orthopedic specialist and a few weeks of crate rest this peppy #pomeranian #chihuahua puppy is ready to RUN not walk into his new families life. Like most puppies his age he has a lot of energy so will need a home that is ready for all the good and bad puppies bring. You will loose a few shoes and computer cords if you leave them out because in his mind EVERYTHING is a doggie chew toy. Don’t worry though because he greets you with lots of puppy dog eyes and kisses making your heart turn to mush so much that you will have replacement cords on auto delivery in your Amazon cart along with all the puppy toys he could ever ask for. Kittle lives with multiple other dogs and even a dog Savy cat and he does great. He will do great with another playful pooch who can handle his desire to play all day. At just over 5 pounds now and an expected adult weight to be under 15 pounds he is the perfect size to join you on weekend trips to the winery or dining alfresco at your favorite restaurant. He would make a great dog friendly office companion and will even be small enough to be your carry on in the airplane if you so choose to bring him along as you travel our great country. He is making progress on his potty training and does amazing in his crate. We think he will do ok with dog savy kids but given his size kids in his future home should be of school age and should know how to properly pet and handle a pup. If you think Kittle may be the pup to add to your family please send us an application. #jakeswishrescue #adoptdontshop #rescuedogsofinstagram #rescuedismyfavoritebreed #pomchisofinstagram #pomchi #pomchipuppy

Talia is ready to find her forever homes! We were asked to take this 6ish month old Havanese mix in when her family could not longer care for her. Talia does great with other dogs and loves her people. Shy at first she will be the first to greet you with kisses when she knows you are a friend not foe. She’s small but full of energy so a family that is active and is looking for that perfect portable hiking, wine tasting, site seeing pooch to join them on all their adventures would be best. If there was another canine sibling in the house that would be an added bonus but not completely necessary. When it comes to the kiddos she could handle sharing her new mom/dad with school aged kids over the age of 10 that know how to respect a dog and treat them right as well as give her time to warm up to them. We love our little kiddos but a tail pulling toddler that doesn’t know any better would not be the right match for this beauty. If you would like to be considered please send us an application.

It was a good day for 9 #jakeswishdogrescue pups. Our volunteers were up early to get our #gravityfalls pups and Wade and Bailey into their #foreverhomes. Big congratulations to Dipper, Soos, Wendy, Candy, Waddles(not pictured), Tambry, Grenda, Wade and Bailey. We owe our partners at #snipbusmontereycounty a huge thank you for helping us get these pups fixed and vaccinated so we can assure none of them have pups of their own #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #fosersaveslives #fosterhomesneeded #pitbullsofinstagram #snipbus
