The Humane Society of Fremont County is an independent, non-profit agency. Our agency is an open-admission animal shelter that provides animal-services to all of Fremont County and Custer County in Colorado. We are not a division of the Fremont County government or the city of Cañon City, nor are we operated by or receive a penny from the Humane Society of the United States. We are an IRS-recognized 501(c)(3) corporation and are governed by a board of directors.
