A Tale of Two Kitties: Emma & Sophie…

Fluffy black senior Emma arrived at ARRI in February of this year and by October her chances of being adopted seemed slimmer than ever. But if there’s one thing we’ve learned at ARRI, it’s that a miracle is always just around the corner… Out of the blue, Emma found a loving home and welcomed her first ever belly rub from her perfect match owner! This, in turn, opened up a spot in the spacious, deluxe cat room for Sophie…

This super-cute tabby with the heart-shaped nose had always attracted admirers, only to swat them away. Even when invited to roam freely in the main cat room, she preferred to hole up in her cage, accepting only the most minimal attention from the doting staff and volunteers. This continued for nearly eight months, until she got her room upgrade and discovered Becky with the brush! From this point onwards everything changed - as you can see from the video - and now Sophie has an adoring home to call her own!

What do you see when you look at these pics? A cat that is a bigger than the dog? Coordinating ginger fur colors? Both are true but this is actually a very unusual occurrence at ARRI - Royal (cat) and Finn (dog) arrived on our Bark & Ride transport from the South, having come from the same home…

For five days they were apart in isolation and then they were reunited in our community room, and were pretty blasé about the whole process! Our wish was to have them adopted into the same home so they could stay together and that wish has been granted! We’ll certainly be thinking of these two sweeties as we give thanks tomorrow!
