Delaware Public Humanities Institute (DelPHI)

DelPHI helps University of Delaware graduate students in the humanities engage the public with research on material culture.

DelPHI is designed to give University of Delaware graduate students a range of skills needed to engage the public in a dialogue about their research on the relationship between people and the material world—what we call “material culture.” Topics include public speaking, giving interviews on radio and television; writing for magazines and newspapers; deploying social media; and producing websites, blogs, and videos. This year’s DelPHI participants come from the departments of Art History, Art History, Art Conservation, English, History, and the Winterthur Program in American Material Culture. DelPHI is endowed by the National Endowment for the Humanities and a generous bequest from a private donor.
