It might be a little chilly out, but adoptable Capricorn is ready to snuggle up with you! Capricorn is one of the sweetest cats you will ever meet. This 8 year old boy will steal your heart instantly. He absolutely loves attention, is super cuddly, and super playful! And, you can always win him over with food; he's so treat motivated! It's #FosterFriday and we can't help but feature this sweet girl again. We really don't understand why she hasn't found her forever home yet! Bonnie has been waiting for over a year now to find her forever family who she can share her big heart with. Bonnie is one of a kind--- she is affectionate, athletic, and smart! Bonnie's wonderful personality truly came to light when she began living with foster families. We've learned so much about her via those experiences. She is completely housebroken and very well-mannered. Bonnie really loves to play fetch (she can catch balls mid-air and on the bounce!), go on walks, chew dog-appropriate stick treats, and cuddle with people! She is very chill during the day after a walk or other exercise and sleeps curled up in a little ball - pretty darn adorable! She will greet you at the door with full-body wiggles and perhaps even bring you her favorite toy. Bonnie barks when appropriate and is very intelligent when it comes to meeting new people. Bonnie doesn't love being around other dogs or cats, so she needs to be the only pet in the house. Oh, and Bonnie's adoption and veterinary fees have been sponsored by another dog-lover which is oh-so-generous! One and a half year old Terra has been making friends since she arrived here from one of our rescue partners in Texas, and she's ready to be yours! This adventure seeking gal attends playgroup regularly where she loves hanging with the "big boys". She's the life of the party! While she's an active gal, she also enjoys relaxing on her bed with a chew toy and snuggling up with her favorite people. She recently attended one of our offsite events where she met people of all ages--- she did well with everyone including children! Our boy Blake needs your help! We've shared a few specific dogs lately that have been becoming a little more stressed in the shelter setting than others. And each time, you guys have made a difference. Your shares have helped find them their forever or foster homes. Let's make it happen for Blake!

Blake is a handsome boy who will draw you in with his dashing good looks and then you'll end up sticking around for his fun, sweet personality. Blake absolutely loves going on walks and will often point you exactly in the direction that he wants to go. He is more than happy to show off how well he can sit and give paw, as well as how hard he has been working on "down". Blake attends playgroup where he does well with smaller groups, so we think he has potential to live with another dog if it's the right fit. While Blake doesn't always know how big he is, every time he throws his weight around, it's done out of love and silliness. Teo and Claudio are the sweetest bonded brothers who are hanging out with our friends at Pet Supplies Plus in Gurnee! Teo is very playful and warms up fast to new people. He especially loves a good grooming, too! Claudio is a bit more shy than Teo. He likes to hide and sunbathe, but is very affectionate once he is comfortable with you. He may need some extra time to adjust into a new home, but with his brother by his side, we know he'll flourish! So head on out to meet these great boys!

A few things to remember when visiting Teo and Claudio at Pet Supplies Plus in Gurnee:

🐾Meet and Greet hours are during their store hours, which are 9am-9pm Monday-Saturday, and 10am-6pm on Sundays.

🐾An Orphans of the Storm staff member will counsel you over the phone during shelter hours to ensure it is the purrrrfect fit.

🐾An application will be needed to complete an adoption, which you can find at https://orphansofthestorm.org/adopt/form/.

🐾Adoptions will be completed during shelter hours by and Orphans of the Storm staff member.

We had some beautiful weather this past weekend to wrap up a beautiful week of adoptions!

#KobesDayOut Kobe had a blast on his field trip the other day and we couldn't help but share! His day consisted of car rides, cheerburgers, leaps and bounds, rolls in the grass, and lots of fresh air! He was such a good boy; he followed direction, was the perfect co-pilot, and walked gently on his lead.

Kobe is just a fun loving boy who enjoys adventure! He loves going into playgroup with the rough and rowdy dogs and would be great living with another dog who matches his play style. Even though he loves to play hard with dogs, when it comes to his people, he is a snuggly lap dog who LOVES to be loved! Kobe is a smart dog, too. He was recently assessed by one of our partner trainers where she said, "Kobe has traits that would make him easy (and a joy!) to train. He is food and ball driven, takes treats nicely, and offers sits and downs without prompting in hopes of getting food rewards." Kobe isn't a party-goer when it comes to new humans though and prefers a low traffic house, as he needs to get to know people with a proper introduction. But don't worry, he thinks he can keep your social calendar filled by just hanging out with him! Due to his energy level and needing a calmer household, Kobe would do best in an adult only home. November is #AdoptASeniorPetMonth and we are celebrating by waiving adoption AND veterinarian fees ALL MONTH LONG for dogs and cats 7 years of age and older! Seniors are truly wonderful--- and when you adopt one, you don't have to wonder how big they'll grow or what their personality will be like. Plus, you are often adopting a pet with a lifetime of experience in a home. They often require a little less walking and play time and a little more sleeping time. And of course, they are always grateful.

So come on by to meet some of our wonderful senior dogs and/or cats! They deserve a loving home where they can enjoy their golden years.

Ringo sure is a star in our eyes 🤩⭐️! This sweet, gentle senior is becoming stressed in the shelter enviornment and we'd really love to see him find his forever home soon! We hate to see any senior in the shelter, but when they become stressed, it especially breaks our hearts. Ringo loves people; he even previously lived in a home with children and did well with them. He loves to play, knows "sit" and "stay", is house trained, and has a lifetime of experience in a home.
