The Junior Humane Society is a non-profit, all volunteer, animal rescue group that relies solely on volunteers and donations from our community.
Our mission is that working together, we can one day put an end to animal overpopulation and 'kill shelters'.
For the past 28 years, the Junior Humane Society has taken in lost, abused, neglected, abandoned, and owner surrendered pets - as well as dogs and cats from local shelters. All animals waiting for adoption are placed in a safe, loving, comfortable place to live, play, sleep and socialize until they are placed in a permanent home. JHS provides all necessary medical treatment during the time the animal is in our care. Our desire is to further serve the people in our community through volunteer opportunities and to provide educational material, especially to our youth. We believe that working together, we can one day put an end to animal overpopulation and 'kill shelters'.

TGIF! Merra obviously had a rough week stealing her foster moms spot on the couch.
Merra is an all around great dog that has been looking for her perfect forever home for OVER A YEAR now! Everyone that meets her falls in love but can't adopt her.
Merra is a 7 year old Boxer/American Staffordshire mix. She loves going on hikes (16 miles is nothing for her), swimming, & playing fetch. Merra is completely housebroken. She is good with cats & horses but does need to be the only dog in the household. She knows all her basic commands & also good off leash!

ADOPTED! Good Afternoon Everyone!
Lilly was available for adoption a couple of months ago after she was found as a stray. Well after a month of her being in rescue no owner was found. Lilly was vetted & adopted out to a great family. Well... a week before her spay appointment Lilly blew up like a balloon. Lilly was pregnant. Her wonderful adopters have taken great care of Lilly & her pups now the babies are ready to find homes of there own!
Lilly (not up for adoption) is a 22 lb Pug/Chihuahua mix. No idea what dad was but the pups look like little black labs so best guess is a black Lab!
