Our mission is to save adoptable animals in the Mitchell City pound from being euthanized. We do not believe euthanizing any adoptable pet is acceptable.

In 2011, Mitchell Animal Rescue helped save over 450 adoptable animals! That is nearly DOUBLE the number saved in 2010.
To prevent an animal from being euthanized at the pound, we advertise their arrival in an attempt to help locate the owner, advertise when the animal is available for adoption through the pound, and when/if the animal will be available for adoption through Mitchell Animal Rescue. If we do not have enough foster homes, we find another rescue/shelter that has room.
We are also available to assist people with finding new homes for their pets. We do not have a facility and have very few foster homes; therefore, we will most likely not be able to take the pet into foster care. We will help with advertising the pet on our FB page and recommend other places where the owner can advertise for free.
