This page is to keep animal lovers everywhere up to date with Clay County Animal Rescue & Shelter. CCARS is a non-profit set up to run the animal shelter for Clay County, Illinois. We run a low kill animal shelter and strive to find homes for every adoptable animal that comes through our door, spaying/neutering as many of them as possible prior to adoption.

We take in over 700 animals per year from our area and at some points are responsible for more than 100 animals who live either at the shelter or in foster homes.

Our goal is to work with our community to make a difference for animals who are lost or unwanted. CCARS provides hope in a situation that used to be hopeless.
