HART is a 501c3 Non Profit Dog Rescue. We save homeless and neglected dogs from high kill shelters and place them in suitable adoptive homes.

Enriching the community by promoting animal welfare, rescue, relocation and humane treatment in Illinois.

We are a foster based rescue. All of our adoptable animals are housed in foster homes until they are adopted. We had to close our shelter facility due to a lack of volunteers and funds. We are hoping to secure a new shelter facility by Spring of 2017. If you have a building you would be willing to donate or rent to us at a reasonable fee please email hartplainfield@gmail.com . All dogs are loved, cared for and receive lots of attention! We are ALWAYS in need of more volunteers to help at events as well as foster. Food and medical care is provided for all pets in foster care.
