"We Are The Voice Of The Animals!"

Friends of Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) that was formed in 2010 to assist the City of Port Isabel when the City took control of the Isabel Y. Garcia Animal Shelter. After placing the shelter’s 400 animals, Friends refocused their efforts towards the animals on South Padre Island, where we became the City's licensed animal shelter. Our storefront, Rescue Me Resale, is our main source of funding that enables us to care for the lost and homeless animals.

We believe there is a home for each and every homeless animal. We do not believe in euthanizing for the sake of over population, thus we are a no kill shelter for the City of South Padre Island. We are the voice of the animals.
