Happy $5 Friday!

Each week, we chose one animal to spotlight. If everyone who likes our page donated just $5, we could raise life changing funds for our shelter!

This week’s spotlight is Nala! Nala is a 4-5 year old female American Staffordshire Terrier mix who was pulled from a local kill shelter.

Nala has been at the shelter for over a year now. She is on special food for urinary crystals that she will be on for the remainder of her life. She is such a sweet girl, but sadly overlooked due to her breed.

Can you donate today to help us get Nala the food and care she needs? All donations are tax deductible, and directly benefit the animals.

We would love to see some extra wet food donations as Thanksgiving quickly approaches! We would love to be able to give each animal a special treat for the holiday.

This week’s spotlight is Pico, Pot Roast, and Pickles.

This trio came from a southern Illinois kill facility. They were rescued from euthanasia, and have been thriving at our shelter. They’re ready for adoption as well!

These three sweet kitties, along with our other 10+ kittens go through a lot of kitten food! Can you donate today to help us take the best care of our kittens as possible? We would also appreciate the physical donation of Purina kitten chow (yellow bag)!

Halle is looking for a home! She is a 2 year old female American Staffordshire Terrier mix.

Halle is such a sweet girl - she is a little shy at first but once she warms up to you she’s your best friend for life! She loves to lay on soft blankets and play with squeaky toys. She would make a great walking partner, too!

Interested in Halle? Our adoption application and requirements can be found on our website www.centraliahumanesocietyil.org/adopt. Her adoption fee is $175. Halle is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. 🐾

This week’s spotlight is Mia!

Mia has been a spotlight previously. This video shows her cough and what she’s dealing with. If you remember, her owners of 6 years gave up on her because they didn’t want to “deal” with her older age and health problems. Pets are a life commitment!

Mia has been seen by a vet, and is on medication to help with her cough along with other symptoms. She is such a sweet dog, she loves when people come and sit with her. Her tail wags so happily, she just loves the company!

Can you donate today to help Mia get better? She will need more vet visits for rechecks as well as more medications once she runs out. All donations are tax deductible, and directly benefit the animals.

This week’s spotlight is Miss Piggy, who you may have seen earlier this week!

Miss Piggy was pulled from a local animal control, on her LAST day before euthanasia. She did not thrive well in a shelter environment, and only bonded with one person. She was very fearful, which lead to no one wanting to adopt her or pull her for rescue.

Our wonderful trainer, Ashten, at Ideal Companion Dog Training LLC stepped up and decided to foster this sweet girl and work on her basic training. She has already flourished so much out of the shelter, and will be looking for her forever home!

This week’s spotlight is our 3 new pups - Max, Ruby, and Rocky. They will be available in a few weeks!

These 3 pups were all pulled from a local animal control. They are super sweet, ornery, and playful! But puppies are expensive!

Each pup needs 3 DHLPP booster vaccines, a bordatella vaccine, dewormed, microchipped, and of course all of the food they eat!

Can you donate today to help us cover Max, Ruby, ans Rocky’s initial costs so we can get them into great homes soon?

Luna is looking for a home! She is a 1-2 year old mixed breed. She was rescued from death row with her 8 puppies - and now she’s waiting for her forever! She loves to play with other animals, and is such a sweet lap dog once she’s comfortable with you.

If you’re interested in adopting Luna, please call us to set up an appointment to meet her! We’re open by appointment only Tuesday-Saturday 12:30-3:30.
