Middletown Animal Control

The Middletown Police Department’s Animal Control Officer enforces the Connecticut General Statutes and City Ordinances as they pertain to dog licensing, roaming dogs, the care of all domestic animals, abuse and neglect, and sick and injured wildlife.

Our mission is to promote the health and well-being of domestic pets and wild animals in addition to protecting the health and safety of our citizens. This mission is accomplished by enforcing state and local animal control laws concerning the prevention of rabies as well as the management of dangerous, sick or injured animals. Responsible pet ownership is promoted through community outreach and education. We are committed to providing our services in a professional, efficient and compassionate manner. The Animal Control Department encourages respectful and harmonious relationships between people and all animals.

We are committed to protecting not only the public, but any animals we encounter. Big or small, we are here for them all. We will not stand for any abuse or neglect taking place in Middletown. In addition to protecting the public and the pets in our area, we have the very important responsibility of finding suitable, nurturing, loving, and forever homes for the adoptables in our care.
