Humane Society Legislative Fund of Kansas

The Humane Society Legislative Fund of Kansas (HSLF of Kansas) is the state’s leading political advocacy organization for animals, supporting candidates for office based on their records or positions on animal issues rather than on political party or affiliation.
HSLF of Kansas works to ensure that Kansas lawmakers pass laws to stop abusive “puppy mills” and promote humane and responsible breeding practices; to end Greyhound racing in Kansas; and to ban the private possession of dangerous wild animals (“exotic pets”) that threaten the health and safety of Kansas communities. “Puppy mills” are inhumane commercial breeding operations that maximize profits by disregarding dogs’ physical and emotional health.
HSLF of Kansas is a social welfare organization incorporated under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions or gifts to HSLF of Kansas are not tax deductible. Your donation may be used for lobbying to pass laws, to protect animals, as well as for political purposes, such as supporting or opposing candidates.
HSLF of Kansas also has a Political Action Committee (PAC). The HSLF of Kansas PAC was established in 2016 to support candidates for office who share our commitment to protecting animals.
