Jefferson County Animal Control

Jefferson County Animal Control provides animal shelter and animal control service to the residents of Jefferson County.

Jefferson County Animal Control proudly serves Charles Town, Ranson, Shepherdstown, Harpers Ferry and all of the unincorporated areas of Jefferson County. Our primary job duty is enforcing the leash law on dogs, animal bites, aggressive dogs and we work as a partner with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department on cruelty to animals. We are an open admission animal shelter for unwanted dogs from Jefferson County. We work tirelessly to find homes or rescues for the unwanted dogs at our shelter. We do not provide service for cats or wildlife.

Staff are committed to fostering the human-animal connection through an innovative and creative approach to animal sheltering and law enforcement.
