Ouachita Parish Animal Control is here to help! There is a leash law in Ouachita Parish, stating that all dogs must be contained in the owners yard, or on a leash, at all times. All cats and dogs, outside or inside, must have a current rabies shot. . Any suspicion of animal cruelty needs to be reported! Animal cruelty can consist of, but is not limited to: animals being chained, fenced in, pinned, or leashed outside without food, water, or shelter; deteriorating health- as in losing weight, losing hair, extremely matted hair, and unattended cuts or sores; as well as, any intentional arrangement of fights between the animals.
