The GCHS is a nonprofit, 501C volunteer organization that helps abused, neglected and homeless animals. We also provide spay/neuter vouchers to residents to help defray the cost of having their pets altered.

We are the only organization in Garrett County that responds to animal neglect reports. These calls for help numbering over 300 per year involve dogs, cats, horses, sometimes goats, rabbits and chickens. Most cases involve educating the owner and others result in prosecution for the worst cases.
