Wesley has been waiting 285 days to find his forever home 🥺

This sweet boy is a heart stealer! He is so much fun to be around and will play fetch however long you want! He is extremely smart and eager to learn new things. He would enjoy dogs parks, camping or even agility training! Wesley is great with other dogs and people, but is looking for a home without cats.

A shelter environment can be so stressful for active dogs like Wesley, being cooped up for 22 hours a day. We are starting to see this take quite a toll on him and he needs a hero to get him out.

Fawn or chihuahua?!?

This long legged cutie is 4 months old and loves her people. She loves them soooooo much that she can’t stand for them to leave her. So, Iris is looking for a family ready to teach her that sometimes it’s okay to be alone and have the time and patience for her to come to terms with that.

Iris is an absolute sweetheart and loves everyone she meets, including other dogs and cats! We are guessing she will be under 15 pounds full grown and is mostly ALL legs.

**Found Dog**

This dog was found on Knopp School Road here in Fredericksburg, TX. He was in critical condition and required emergency medical care. He was immediately rushed to our wonderful partners at Fredericksburg Equine Veterinary Services where he was seen immediately and it was determined his stomach had flipped. There was no time to send him off to a specialist, so Dr. Ikard and her team performed an emergency, lifesaving surgery on this sweet boy. His prognosis is guarded, but making it through surgery was step one.

Friends, we once again need your help. This sweet kitten was thrown out of a car yesterday. A Good Samaritan and her 8 year old daughter saw it happen. While no one should ever witness this, the fact a young girl was distraught over it add fuel to our outrage.

When they brought the kitten in to us, she was in pretty critical condition. Our wonderful partners at Fredericksburg Equine Veterinary Services saw her immediately. They determined she had a broken leg, possibly ruptured bladder, and her bloodwork wasn’t not looking good. She would have to be hospitalized overnight.

This morning we got the call no one ever wants to hear. We could either try exploratory surgery to see what was wrong with her bladder, but due to her condition the chances of making it through the surgery were not good. Otherwise her only other option was humane euthanasia.

While it was a decision we didn’t take lightly, We opted for surgery. We just got an update that she made it through surgery, but we’re far from out of the woods. Her bladder was ruptured and she has a perianal hernia. They were able to repair her bladder, but had to leave the hernia as she couldn’t tolerate more anesthesia.

We know she’s a long shot, but she didn’t ask for this. The cruelty of the humans who threw her out a window like garbage, should not determine if she gets a chance at life. Our Healing Hearts program was established so that animals like her could have a second chance. It’s with your help that we’re able to save the lives of these critical babies, and in this situation hopefully heal the heart of an 8 year old girl along the way.
