The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will be closed on Thursday, November 25th, for Thanksgiving and will reopen with normal business hours on November 26th, offering Name Your Price adoptions for all medium to large adult dogs, adult cats, and kittens with an appointment! Small dogs and puppies are just $75 to adopt. Email adoption@wilco.org to schedule an appointment to meet the pet of your dreams!



Not ready to commit? The holidays are the perfect time to share with a foster pet, so why not take a dog or cat Home For The Holidays! This yearly fostering program features any medium to large adult dog or adult cat. Just join the WCRAS foster team by filling out the Foster Application found at http://pets.wilco.org/How-to-Help, then come pick out a dog or cat to take Home For The Holidays. Gifts abound for all with this program – you provide a loving home for the pet you choose and they provide you with love and devotion in return. If it turns out to be a match made in heaven, you can adopt your foster. Otherwise, you bring him or her back to the shelter. This special fostering program runs through January 3rd.

Our favorite filmmaking youngster is back with his plea for Maxwell to be adopted. Maxwell is:

Walter was brought to the shelter by a member of the public from Cedar Park. He had a severe injury to his foot, and after consulting with vets, it was determined the best thing for Walter was amputation. He's healing up very well now and is available for adoption! #PetsOfTheWeek 🐶 Who doesn't love an Oreo cookie 🍪? This easygoing older gal, lovingly referred to as Double-Stuffed Oreo here at the shelter, has been waiting a long time for her new adventure to begin. She'd love a nice comfy bed to snooze in; long, leisurely walks where she can take in all the newest sights and smells; and plenty of love and affection from her new adult family.

She's been described as curious, active, and playful; she gets along with male dogs (we always recommend a meet & greet); and she loves car rides, fetch, and fun in the water. And this girl's got smarts - she's been enjoying lots of time training as one of our Honor Roll 'students.' 🙂

This sweet little guy, whom we've named Sunny, was found by a Good Samaritan after being hit by a car. 🥺 Sunny suffered from a skull and jaw fracture, jaw dislocation, broken teeth, and multiple abrasions. The emergency vet team quickly noted how, despite such injuries, Sunny had a wonderful disposition. After consulting with us, they went to work to get him on the path to recovery, and just look at him now!

Sunny is recovering very well in a foster home 🏠, is scheduled to be neutered, and will then be available for adoption! This is all thanks to the donations we receive to our medical fund🩺, Jane's Fund. Without it, Sunny's outlook would have been dim.

We've had a lot of medical cases over the past several weeks, and we want to continue to help dogs and cats just like Sunny get well and go on to 🌟happy new futures🌟. Your donations, big and small, help us continue our life-saving mission.

#AdoptionPupdate 🐶 "In January I adopted Diamond, now named Soka. She took a little bit of time to warm up to me, but now she is the most loyal dog I have ever owned. She refuses to leave my side and is always ecstatic whenever I come home. We go on walks daily, and she always manages to find a stick wherever we go. When I take her to the park, she loves to run around constantly until she is completely exhausted.

"She is very obedient and is now trained on the basics and then some. She doesn’t like baths, but always manages to go head first into the creek at any chance she has. When she first got here, she would not eat. Now, she does nothing else but give me puppy dog eyes when I am eating French fries 🍟 or popcorn 🍿, even though she eats twice a day. She loves to roll around in the grass and is wary of strangers, but once she is introduced she acts like they are a part of the pack. She loves to snuggle while watching tv 📺 and keep everyone in the house up at night while she chews on her bone the loudest she can. 🤣

"Not only is she happy, but she brightens the day of anyone she comes into contact with. Thank you Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, she has found her forever home."
