This is the official Hazel Park Animal Shelter page! The page was designed to get the word out about the shelter as well as provide residents a way to spread the news about lost/found pets in and around the city.

The Hazel Park Animal Control Facebook Page is maintained for the expressed intent of helping animals found in and around hazel park make their way home. This Facebook Page cannot take complaints and all complaints should be directed to Hazel Park Animal Control 248 546 4096.

The shelter cares for strays, animals abandoned by their owners, animals seized from owners due to improper care, surrendered animals, and houses bite cases. We do direct adoptions and work with a number of local rescues to find the right homes for the animals at the shelter. Adoption Applications now available at goo.gl/UVqAq5

Pound fees are as followed *subject to change without notice*

Return of Impounded Animal First Offence: $25 first day, $5 each additional day.

Return of Impounded Animal Subsequent Offence: $50 first day, $5 each additional day.

Owner Surrender: $55 per animal, must be scheduled with the ACO prior to dropping animal off.

Quarantine/Court Case Impounds: 50$ initial impound. $20 per day.

Disposal of Deceased Pets:
Under 50lbs- $50
50-100lbs- $75
100lbs and over- $100

Removal of dead animals off private property- $35

A ticket can be issued at any time for a dog or cat wondering beyond the owners property without reasonable control.

A ticket can be issued at any time for not having a dog/cat license. Dog/Cat licenses can be obtained at the city clerk's office (2nd floor of city hall). All dogs and cats residing in the city of Hazel Park must be licensed with the city within 30 days of entering the city, or when the animal reaches 4 months of age.

There is a 3 animal per house hold limit.
