The Humane Society of Southern New Mexico (HSSNM) is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, tax exempt animal rescue organization. We are not affiliated with or financed by any city, county, state or federal agency. We are working to bring the community together for the sake of the Animals. We rescue, rehabilitate, foster, and care for abused, neglected, and abandoned Cats, Kittens, Dogs and Puppies. We place them in new and caring homes to provide them with a second chance at love through our ongoing adoption events. We manage the Pet Adoption Center located in the PetSmart Store on Lohman Avenue in Las Cruces, NM, and since April 2008, we have placed more than 341 cats and dogs into new and caring homes. We work closely with the local Spay/Neuter Awareness Program (SNAP) in order to provide low cost spay and neuter services for pet owners, as well as furnishing information to potential and new adopters on the needs and care required by family pets.
