Ryder's Journey - Furbridge Animal Rescue & Community Outreach

Ryder's Journey from bait dog to safety and his journey to his forever
http://furbridge.org/

His name is Ryder. He was found this way on May 10, 2017 abandoned No water, food, or tags, just a gaping wound on his face, and yet he wags his tail and is as happy as can be. We don’t know how long he has been this way but this wound is not new. The vets who are taking care of him tell us he was probably used as a bait dog based on his injuries. They cleaned him up and made sure he is not in pain. We made sure he was vaccinated and tested for any other illnesses. We did find out that not only does he have this painful injury, he is heartworm positive. A treatment which in and of itself is painful. He will also need to be neutered once he is healthy enough to be put under anesthesia. The vets are optimistic that he will respond well to treatment since they estimate him to be about two years old. In the meantime, his foster mom will be making sure he has everything he needs and give him the love and security he seems to never have known. He has suffered greatly at the hands of humans and Ryder has a long road ahead of him. Please consider donating to his care, we anticipate he will need to have additional surgery and pain meds to help him heal. We are dedicated to making sure that he receives the care he needs to heal his body, and the love he needs to heal his heart.
